Where do you get this lie? These higher level programs are insanely competitive and turn numerous students away every year

two second hand sources, the main competition is still foreign. usually these programs are treating Americans as the minority, accepting lower merits if you come from the US over the foreign comp. having to set quotas that must be maintained. haven't seen a break down on applicants, the only knowns, I can find anyway, are actual students.

you can basically look at a schools ranking and assume a positive correlation with how many foreign students they have.

I would say if you want to keep more the smart thing imo would be to have those foreign students have a US corporate sponsor. with either a coop program, or a contract requiring X number of years if they sponsor you.

the admin taking a very anti-immigrant stance is going to decrease that percentage, not help it.
