Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

This will seem like a shot at Heupel but it’s not. Hooker and Aguilar essentially landed in his lap. Milton and Nico were guys he brought in. Can Heupel trust his own evaluations for QBs?
It’s not a shot and you aren’t the only, but to also be fair he chose Aguilar, technically. Took a while, though. Still I’m right there with you. Waiting to see what he can do with a HS QB that he recruited to UT. Right now the only one is about to go to his 3rd team in less than a calendar year (most likely).

We got some major holes and we are playing several teams just as talented, although with that talent distributed differently around the positions, with different strengths and weaknesses..and we have one team to play that has a 30+% BCR advantage of more roster talent than ours, and it is on the road with officials that will screw us over and over and over, so we don't just have to beat Bama..we have to beat them so badly...in Tuscaloosa..that the officials cannot screw us over, unlike the UGA game...for those that scoff at that, I have two numbers for you 10-5...at Neyland...not one single offensive holding called on them despite several egregious examples right in front of an official, but we had at least one.

We definitely could win out, but with this paper thin defense, it is not likely. I realize we have injured players that will strengthen us when they come back, but we need McCoy back on the field in the worst way...and nobody knows if he will even be back on the field.

In essence there are several teams that can stop us from doing that...so I don't really agree with that second part of your statement.
I see your point
I am nervous about bama, OK, and in Gainesville but I think we can win those games
MSU, vandy, are Kansas and Uk can beat us but we should win those games handily on paper IMO bc I think we can name our score in those games

Probably crazy thinking that but I honestly didn’t expect much this year after the off season ordeals
but this team is damn fun to watch on offense

I think with our new offensive play book and playing fast it’s gonna be hard to stop us if we wanna go

Your right on defense
We are missing those guys bad that are hurt
Ton of younger players getting valuable playing time though and hopefully they improve game by game

Hey may never play here but Mac is a good QB

Beck has been nowhere near as good as they hype tonight
Every Quarterback...even the GOATs have a couple bad or mediocre games, and Beck has always been a little up and down.

Joey's is going to have one or two sooner or later...I hope it's on a day the defense and running game show up big time or we will lose.

Love it. No excuses. You can certainly tell this mentality is rooted in the team culture as well! Freaking love this team man these past few years have been incredible and our program just continues its upward trajectory.
I love that they think that way, but it's pretty much 🦬💩 when it comes to what we should expect...we have way too many idiots that are too dumb to understand the massive difference in an "excuse" and a legitimate "reason".

They say the stoopit remark.."next man up" like that means whoever comes in should just magically be expected to play as well as the dude that beat him out for the job...it's actually asinine when you think about it.

I know nobody around the country cares...but I do and I understand the truth of our situation right now.

And I didn't mean that towards what you said...that was pointed at the Idiot Margin thst can not understand the obvious truth..we are badly undermanned at DT and CB and it has made a massive difference in the performance of our defense.

I can’t see us spending asinine money like that again on a QB. Certainly not a HS QB.

I just wonder why he didn’t recruit a veteran after last year. Surely to goodness Heupel behind the scenes was like: “Dam, this kid sucks”

Which is why I think he’s lucky he left to where he did. No one here had even heard of Joey Aguilar 7 months ago.
Practice is nothing like games dude...it is completely different when bullets are flying.
