He was two strides ahead on the first. Had that ball hit him in stride, he would’ve scored untouchedI think so, but it’s interesting that Brazzell wasn’t “open” on either of his long TDs—especially the second. Y’all had to like the matchup when he was singled up, but I will be interested to see if those throws continue to have success. In both long TDs, the defenders were close enough to make a play but (taking nothing away from Brazzell, who played both perfectly and played through serious PI on the first) both defenders misplayed the ball by jumping or going for the ball too early.
It may be that Brazzell has that Moss or Calvin Johnson about him to win a bunch of those high arc passes, but those long, high throws will invite teams to start playing a centerfield safety.
Again, taking nothing from either JA or Brazzell, I think the incorporation of out-breaking routes and quick passes are the scarier evolutions in the offense in terms of trying to stop it while defending the run.
Yeah that’s fair. Brazzell won big time at the line. But your point about hitting in stride is probably more what I’m getting at with JA. He hangs those long passes out there. By the time the pass arrived, Robinson had time not only to recover the space he lost, but still arrive early with what he probably thought was an attempt at batting or stripping the ball. It ended up being just old fashioned PI.He was two strides ahead on the first. Had that ball hit him in stride, he would’ve scored untouched
Our best offensive production BY FAR has been executed by two unheralded veteran transfers. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it IMOI was thinking about this earlier this morning and wanted to get y’all’s thoughts.
What are the chances Heupel brings in a 4th or 5th-year senior, like Aguilar, this year to help bridge the gap to GMac or Faizon? We’ve seen how much better the offense looks with a veteran who can make the right reads and play without overthinking. My concern is whether a second-year MacIntyre or a true freshman Faizon will be mentally ready to run the offense at the level we saw under Hendon, or even how it seems to be operating now with Aguilar.
For the record, I think Merk probably transfers out. And while I don’t expect Heupel to bring in someone to directly compete for the job, I do think it’s an interesting debate worth having.
I think you bring in someone like that telling them up front that they are most likely going to be a back up and pay them back up level money. I mentioned in another thread the other day that Aguilar may end of being Heupel's best portal acquisition if he continues to play like he has through the first 3 games. Eventually, Heupel is going to hit on one of these big name HS QBs in either GMAC or Faizon. The law of recruiting averages says he is due for at least one of them to be really good. Heck, both will be really good most likely.I was thinking about this earlier this morning and wanted to get y’all’s thoughts.

UCLA and Virginia Tech are currently in the coaching market. Florida will be soon and bama might sell their basketball program to get enough money to pay off Deboer's buyout and get Dabo.![]()
