Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

They don't know what they're talking about then...which doesn't surprise me one bit. 2018 was Napier's 1st year at Louisiana. They did play Mississippi State that year though and lost 56-10.
I wonder if they meant Florida's last road win against a ranked opponent, which would be worse. It just said last road win and I assumed they were talking about Napier.

I think Beamer might think hard about going home to VT. Escape the sinking ship that is SoCar and get a fat new contract in VT where the path to the CFP is much easier.

Likewise, I could see SoCar probably not putting up much of a fight to let him go. A lot of people thought he was on the hot seat barely a year ago.

Couldn’t watch any sports after the heartbreak Saturday but the fact still remains, We put up 41 on that Georgia defense. We learned the identity of our offense this year and it’s better than 2022 and on the other hand We still haven’t learned what our defense can do.

The past two years we have been rotating players in and out and I’m not sure if it is due to NIL or not but as a fan I want to know why Ben Bolton is out there on a crucial third down.

Idk if it’s been said or what’s been said I haven’t really read what’s been posted but Kirby had the right game plan. We are thin up front and he kept attacking it. 3TE sets most of the game will tell you that and that’s tough to defend when you’re down 4 starters against this GA team.

The rest of the season has a lot more to tell but for me one thing is certain, we are a National championship contender.

He won't get offered and won't get worshipped. Pry is a legend in Blacksburg and we saw the short leash they had. Fans soured on him quick.

They're going to offer Beamer but idk if he takes it. Then they'll move on and do a nationwide search. Idk if they're dedicated to getting a Hokie
I don't think Shane wants to coach there and be in his dad's shadow forever. At least he said as much.

The thing that most people don't understand is that the biggest difference with this team is the depth. Even in 2022 we could not sustain any injury to a major contributor, we lose Hooker and we were done. We can survive that now.
We were 2-0 after Hooker went down in 2022 including beating 13th ranked Clemson 31-14

Yeah, it sucks that we still have to hear UGA fans gloat, but they can't say Heup's offense doesn't work against elite SEC defenses anymore. Unless they want to admit theirs isn't elite (which they probably are just to "own" the Vols fans).

We had a month to prepare for Clemson, who also started a brand new QB in the bowl game. The other team we played was Vandy.

To be fair Klubnik was coming off a ranked W vs UNC where his “legend” was born.

20-24 279 1 TD, 0 INT
7 rush 30 yards 1 TD

Also did Clemson with a 2x NC coach not have a month to prepare for Vols?

He wasn’t brand new. He threw for 279 yds in the ACC championship game. The point still remains that we didn’t exactly fold after losing Hooker.

That's fair. Just pointing out that the situations are different and Klubnik was indeed making his first start. Milton was also experienced and had been in the system for 2 years at that point. I would be willing to bet Clemson had a few hold outs as well for the draft, but I can't recall who. I think we were pretty much just missing Hyatt and Tillman.

And the other team was Vandy.

But, yes we were not "done" as the poster said we were, even though I agree with his overall point that depth is insanely better now.
