Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I’ve heard from a few the crowd was not near as loud as it should have been and years past. Especially considering the circumstances, anyone else there and can tell me they’re just bitter from the loss?

A lot of different opinions and outlooks this morning, but the good news is that overall, everyone is good with where this program is headed...

No one will argue that if we were at full strength, we would have whipped them by min 14... Not having our DB's and injuries on the D-line definitely gave them at least 2 TD's... (add in the horribly obvious refs killing us with BS calls/no calls to stall drives and give them 1st downs and points)

4th and 17 to put the game away and they throw an endzone TD with us in gunner's face against our true frosh DB was just a killer...Yet we still came back and had a chance to kick for the win...

I would say the only part of the game that really got me upset was that final drive in regulation where we went too conservative to set up the FG... we needed to be going for a TD being smart, but settle for a FG if needed... we easily could have gotten 10 more yards before the false start...

Big serious question--- with Ga taking the false start penalty on the FG to back us up, wasn't that still 3rd down? Didn't we technically have a chance to gain back the yards we lost and still kick on 4th? I haven't seen a replay and couldn't go back and check yesterday...

This team will improve and learn from yesterday, I think the head coach learned something from yesterday too... NEVER take your foot off the gas until the whistle...

I don’t see us finishing better than 9-3 this season with our schedule and the defense we have so far. Offense can only do so much.

I see us losing to Oklahoma and Bama. We finish just outside of the top 12 and miss the playoffs. Because Tennessee

This is why this loss hurts. Hope I’m wrong.
Blah blah blah

We are 1 field goal from 12-0

How tf are they stopping our offense?

Hoping and assuming this was a big hit for the recruits we had on campus yesterday... maybe we will see some chatter from a few ... Yes we lost, but any kid thinking of coming here had to walk away impressed with the entire situation and could see where they could help and be a big piece of the puzzle to get to the playoffs...

Yeah we had 7 seconds to get more yards

Absolutely dumb to not try and get more.

I think he is insinuating that our Defense will be our Achilles heel and not be able to stop their O's...

We have not looked good at all on 3rd and 4th down D.... When Syracuse was converting those downs at will, I knew we were in trouble... We let Ga convert way to many and it added to the difference in the game... Yesterday we stop the 4th and 17 TD and the game was ours...

The elitists don't yell, it's beneath them. They spent their time talking about how shirley didnt lift her pinky finger while drinking her Manhattan.

Yes we kicked on third down. We could have run another play. I get kicking on third down because you could fumble and recover I just thought we would have kicked it on the prior third down.

Yes we kicked it on 3rd down with 3 timeouts in our back pocket. I didn’t think kicking on 3rd down was the issue I think rushing Max out there after the penalty was the issue. I would like to ask CJH why he didn’t take a timeout after the penalty to let Max have a moment to reset his thoughts.

Curious to see how bad things end up for Florida when Miami beats them this week. That locker room could crumble
Their schedule is just so relentlessly brutal. A trip to Miami and an extremely likely L, then a bye week, then they get the pleasure of playing Texas and going to College Station after that. If they’re 1-5 at that point, MSU will probably beat them in Gainesville. Then another bye week only to turn around and play UGA!

UGA ends their bowl eligilbiy hopes, but they still have @ UK, @ Ole Miss, Tennessee, and FSU.

Holy hell, they seriously might go 1-11, especially if the team quits after the Miami, Texas, and A&M stretch. They don’t really have a stretch of “get right” games. It’s just gonna be loss after loss after loss.
