It would take a good bit of time to compile, but I’d love to know how many 4th down conversions allowed during each DC’s tenure here. We’ve given up so many first down or scores on 4th downs over the last 4 years that it just feels like we’re in record territory

UGA was 5/5 on 4th down this game I believe. Just unacceptable.

I cannot put my finger on exactly why, but Josh Heupel puts a team and offense on the field that simply disappears during stretches of games, most often in the second quarter just like it did today. If we simply manage ANY type of offensive score in the 2nd quarter there is no need to kick a FG to win in regulation that we missed.

Dude. It’s UGA. We ain’t gonna score every poession. 38 points is a crazy amount to put on their defense. The offense was simply incredible today.

He didn't say Georgia had a mediocre roster, only a mediocre OC. Read brother.

You clearly can’t read. He very clearly called their offense mediocre and then doubled down in the post above. Good try, but you failed

UGA is very talented / more talent than us and Tim Banks was playing with an arm tied behind his back without 2 starters at corner and two starters at DT. Before the game, Heath Shuler said he thought our corners would be fine but he was worried about our safeties. Turns out our corner play was exposed big time. Redmond was regularly roasted.

Having said that . . . I think Banks is a mid level DC at best and I don’t think we will field a championship team / defense with him. JMO. I know many like him and have good arguments in favor of him.

Last year the defense carried the offense. This year it looks to be reversed. Until we can field a complete team there will be tight games that come down to a couple of plays.

He was shorthanded. Gave us a shot but def just isn’t deep enough

That’s fine but if using that as a reason, don’t delay safety blitz from 15 yards away on first play of the game and leave your freshman rb by himself.
And get your calls in so we are ready at the snap. Late and confused too often

I do not blame the defensive staff. I blame a system that has so many of your starters sitting in the bench injured. You can recruit all of the talent in the world but if they can not play what good is it?

If I were a recruit I would be asking this staff a lot of questions.

Amazing game by the offense. Joey and the WRs balled out. The run game was solid. 38 points should be enough points to win by 3-4 scores against a pretty mediocre offense. Tim Banks flexes against lesser opponents but in big games he has no idea what he is doing. I don’t know the solution because his body of works says he’s a solid DC. But holy **** I’m sick of his defense looking abysmal against UGA. Mike Bobo isn’t exactly an offensive genius and yet Banks gets schooled every time. It’s beyond stupid. Something has to change. That should of been a beatdown in favor of the Vols. Period.
I hate we gave this to them but this is the line of every fan(atic) after a tough loss. We make a FG and earn the win this is a different conversation. If anything, we have to talk about recruiting and depth in the secondary.

I liked a lot of the adjustments the D made. They ran it down our throats in the first drive of the 3rd quarter then didn't do much until the big run in OT. Players are accountable too. I saw some terrible angles and tackling (which are also on coaches) which we need to clean up. Players at this level, however, should not need a lot of coaching on fundamentals.

I believe we have a lot of speed and young dudes playing against another team with young dudes. There is no way Kirby and UGA fans aren't "smarting" (see what I did there?) after we hung 41 on them. Players have to put themselves in the right position according to the scheme. Coaches have to put the right scheme in place and, candidly, a lot of bg plays would not have happened if the players did their job.

I'm hurting too my friend, this one stings. I think it is a different game with our starting D Linemen and DBs. Go Vols!

Obviously if that FG goes through we’re all ecstatic but I would 100% still be roasting the **** outta of that imposter Tim Banks. I’m done with him. Liability in big games.

Overrated. I'm sick of all the praise the talking heads heap on TB at every opportunity. IF you are all that, you don't need people pumping you up---all the time. Listen to Banks orate. Not that sharp a guy. A top DC in big time CFB should be a borderline genius. Anyone out there think Tim is that?

If we were closer to full strength I would be upset at what the defense gave up to that Georgia offense.

But really this game boiled down to Kirby picking on Redmond. That was the gameplan anytime Gunnar threw it down the field. If we could take away that option, and had a healthier DLine I think it makes a huge difference. Really unfortunate.

Don’t worry we will hold the almighty Miss State Bulldogs to under 20 and that means Banks is amazing!

He is not a bad coordinator. We were down several starters on D and we all knew the game was going to be a shootout. Or some of us anyway…
They scored 28 on AP and 44 vs UT. You will see the UGA offense will probably not score 44 again this year vs a SEC team. Uconn also did a better job defensively vs Syracuse. Anyone with a good passing game will put up a lot of pts vs Martinez and Banks! It is a given. Banks and Martinez aren't getting it done, PERIOD!!!

UGA still out-talents us by quite a lot. We just gave them all they could’ve handled and lost on a game-winning kick. We have multiple injuries on the defense. Calm down, this team will be ok.
