The Official #15 Tennessee vs. #6 Georgia Game Thread, 3:30 ET, ABC

Think Heup over learned from last season. With kirby if you don’t go for the jugular, he is going to beat you.
I’m not sure going for the jugular was the issue last season.

Tennessee’s offense was completely shut down after the first half in that game…and lost 31-17.

We are seeing Fulmer Part II. It is the Fulmer vs Spurrier fiasco all over again. Choking in big games with conservative football. He has never beat Kirby as a coach. Lost to him when he was at Missouri and it keeps happening here.

I'm sick of these absolute idiots who try and blame coaching for everything. The coaches aren't on the damn field
Exactly!!! We were in a position to win the game , against maybe the best team in the country!
How quickly everyone forgets us not even being competitive in games like this..
Make a kick and everyone thinks the coaches are the best in the country!

Not concerned at all. Game was every bit as good as advertised.
Vols took their licks and gave some and had every chance to win it at the end.
Gilbert messed up- sure- but that was no chip shot and he put them back up in OT. He could have gotten into his head and missed the one in OT.
Big thing for me was how the freshmen grew up and played in a big game. This will help down the road. When the guys that are hurt come back, that’s quality depth that will pay off down the road.
Probably a lot of recruits at the game and if they don’t come away impressed, there’s something wrong.
I believe that this team can run the table from here on out. Gonna be a tough row to hoe at Bama, but it’s doable.
We’re gonna find out a lot about the leadership and how the guys rebound after this gut punch.
I believe their best ball is ahead of them.
Go Vols

Missing 2 of our top four DT plus our 2 starters at CB and still should have one! I’m proud of them! We got punched in the mouth early in the 3rd and to be honest I thought it was over then but we fought back. Our team grew up a lot. I’m proud of them!

Basically came down to 2 series, taking the foot off the gas running the ball 3 times after a turnover and 4th down td pass with no pass help, you knew where they were gonna throw it.

Would’ve missed without the 5 yards

Exactly he wasn't close. Distance was not a problem. He didn't even have much pressure in his face. The 5 yards didn't have an impact. He wasn't a QB throwing for a 1st down. He was a guy well within his distance.

I feel for him, but he was hero or goat in that spot. We had a streak and huge win on the line. These are rare moments in a football career. You don't play teams home and away in the same season like basketball.

Yes, I am upset. I saw it coming like most of us. This **** always happens in sports and when it doesnt... You have games like when we beat Bama for the first time in a long time. It took an ugly kick to win. In the real world, players are gonna **** on themselves when there is that much pressure on them. They have better players. Heupel got us so far but the players have to play special and only some did. Go Vols.
