Yes! Such a huge problem.

People make money by promoting points of view. Being "influencers" dependent on clicks. And the social media algorithms detect that, and feed both sides of the divide even more divisive "news."

I did not agree with Kirk's views on pretty much anything, but you have to respect and admire someone who goes head to head with people to TALK about these different points of view.

to take the school kids and 2A discussion - I take that as a truism; if you have a 2A you are going to have instances where something like that happens. It's not condoning it or saying it's "worth it" or a small price to pay. It's like saying if you have cars freely available to people you are going to have auto related deaths. Or more extreme, you have have cars freely available some children will die.

We aren't going to agree on that, I think its an oversimplification. And not to derail but something has to give on that point.

Just to clarify I've seen it quite a bit from our murder apologists in here.

The quote about guns from Charlie paraphrased is: with guns there will be tragedies, without them there will be genocide. Historically speaking 100% correct. So the misquotes are quite heinous in their intent.

This is a horrible misrepresentation of what Charlie said and you know it. Not even close to a fair comparison.

Oh. Well, as i noted yesterday I really was not all that familiar with him. 61 and no kids, I'm removed from a lot I guess. So I don't have much perspective on whether his comments have been misconstrued. Wouldn't be surprised if you are right !
