So in the social media posts of people I know I see a common thread. Those who are in the mild "I don't care" version of "he had it coming" crowd have 2 things in common: 1) they are on the left (so a different tribe) and 2) they didn't know anything about him other than some soundbytes they saw without context (the empathy and the condones school kids getting shot ones in particular).
We've become really lazy as a culture.
Yes! Such a huge problem.
People make money by promoting points of view. Being "influencers" dependent on clicks. And the social media algorithms detect that, and feed both sides of the divide even more divisive "news."
I did not agree with Kirk's views on pretty much anything, but you have to respect and admire someone who goes head to head with people to TALK about these different points of view.
