Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

I hope not. Political assassinations of peaceful men should echo for a long time.
the emotional bandwidth is finite. There may be policies and procedures which live on but the anger, fear, anxiety, retribution will fade over the weeks.

What does it tell you that he took the shot, ran, blended in with the crowd, and is on the run ?

They had a plan to shoot and escape, but I don't think he blended in with the crowd that I know of. I think they said he went through a neighborhood before dumping the rifle in a wooded area.

But the fact he didn't wait around was telling. Professionals will verify their shot placement and kill. It's not like movies or video games where the scope stays on target through the whole shot. A .30-06 produces enough recoil in a hunting rifle that the scope will be well off target after the shot. Professionals can dial back in quickly and evaluate. Amateurs not so much. Regardless, the shooter likely would not have known shot placement except to know CK was hit. I'll give that a 50-50 chance though. Kirk dropped to the ground but it was just barely long enough to know you hit. But I don't think the shooter stuck around that long.

The crazy thing is nobody noticed him running off with a rifle? Even in a case or wrapped in a blanket, that's gonna look suspicious. But I'm the chaos, anything is possible.

So you think I want to shoot people that I hate because of what they have to say?????
Are you 7 or 97? Anyone in between should have the mental fortitude to know better.
You might want to take a vacation.

No, I think you and the corn cob teeth guy are too chicken **** to actually shoot people. But you are not sane and will gladly condone, encourage it, and hint how great it is.

No dude. Completely wrong. One party loves America, the other party hates America. This is not about blue team versus red team. It's about Americans who love America versus Americans who hate America. You're way off dude
It's funny to watch you complain about perceived violent rhetoric from 'the left', while painting everyone who disagrees with you as hating the country.

No one would ever accuse you of having self-awareness, but it's still impressive to see cognitive dissonance occur in real time.

This is only the second time I've seen someone posting about actually wanting to shoot someone.

I think volfanjustin lost his cool back in 2020 and straight up told me he'd take the opportunity to shoot me.
was the discussion about a large, emotionally charged subject? covid, maybe?

Maybe polarizing can be better termed as someone who is not a sheep in the flock. Whether for good or for bad.

Example. I'd say King was polarizing. For good reasons. Would not say Sharpton or Jackson were/are. They are sheep that won't get outside the flock.
I think we mostly agree. At issue is assuming the term polarizing is derogatory. It can be but it isn’t automatic.

the corollary is true - those who scoff at any false flag explanation are now embracing it in this instance. two examples in this thread
I'm not embracing it. I'm just trying to reconcile the actions of the shooter. It's possible it was just chaos and he wanted to escape and wasn't thinking clearly and took the incriminating gun with him with the message he wanted conveyed to the world.

Kind of wondering if it was a group effort perhaps?

What is most surprising to me are the thousands and thousands of posts celebrating Kirk’s death from the left. There aren’t just a few crazies, the toxic leftwing hatred and vitriol appears to be systemic and widespread.

I understand that statistically these are a minority, but just that the appearance of widespread celebration is there.

I think it was a Mauser (per a leaked email supposedly).

Still not something a professional would use...

But if you're a college student or recently out of college on a limited budget, it makes sense to use something like that with your Walmart scope. And the .30-06 is still common enough that finding a decent used one on Armslist is trivial.

Not only does no one believe you, you keep posting the obvious just to make sure we all get it.

The subject of discussion is irrefutable proof your generalized "ought" isn't happening. And as you have reminded people can cause a response by others (trump and division). Therefore, kirk's murder may cause a response by others, too.

Dangerous position to hold, imo.

Many on the right, myself included, have bit down for a long time. Tried to reason, tried to come to agreements, said agree to disagree. This did not work. We were called racist Nazi fascists for having moderate opinions. Now a dude many people admired for his courage to display Christ and engage in open debate is assassinated in front of us and people online and in the media are celebrating. Now I know a lot are bots, edge Lord losers, etc but when people on here are 1 foot in with the "well he was polarizing" nonsense it really makes some gears turn.

I think this will burn much longer than what people think. People are pissed off for being screeched at for 10 straight years and having false projections laid on our heads and this is a breaking point for many.

This is no way justifying my own anger or others. I wish I was better but I'm not, I'm enraged. I will cool off, but the younger men who really like Charlie will simmer for quite a while imo.
