Charlie Kirk Shot and killed

High and right. Perhaps aiming for a heart shot. That would make perfect sense. The trigger was pulled instead of squeezed. If that is the case, the shooter had no good training.

No, he was going for the head shot and didn't take into account bullet drop or the elevation change from the building to the ground. A .30-06 (that's what I'm seeing reported as the round used and it makes sense) has a drop of 3.8 inches at 200 yards if zeroed at 100 yards. If the shooter was aiming for center head the drop and height of the shooting platform as well as the winds (looks like a corridor between the buildings) might account for where it hit. It's about a six inch drop and an inch right if your aiming "center mass" of the head. 4 inches of that is already accounted for in bullet drop.

I hate to use the term lucky shot... but it looks that way because the shooter didn't stick around to see the aftermath from the videos I saw. It was a shoot and scoot situation. He maybe saw the impact and that was it.

Outside of the head or heart, the shooter hit the only part of the body guaranteed to end in a quick death if the victim wasn't on a hospital OR table with a great vascular surgery team at the time of the shooting. Most people don't know that outside of the medical world that when you hit the jugular or carotid with a rifle caliber round, you'd got maybe a minute or two before it's lights out.

My guess is the shooter was trained in rifle shooting, but still had the "Call of Duty" mentality that a head shot at 200 yards is a viable shot. They likely never have taken a shot at that range and didn't know ballistics.

I'm nearly 100% sure CK was wearing a vest. Headshot would be needed.

And, no, it's not a hard shot.

Free?
Nothing is free.
Anyone telling you otherwise is selling lies

Our education and propaganda systems have failed us so badly that Leftists don't understand this simple concept. They think " Get as much free stuff from the faceless monolith of Government (Daddy) as possible. I am OWED these things."

They don't understand that every single cent of money that the "Government" has is just OTHER Americans money which was taken from them under the threat of violence or incarceration. How many folks here would give away HALF what they make to the government through income tax, sales tax, property tax, capital gains, death taxes etc etc IF there wasn't the threat of being put in prison by the IRS or having our property seized from us??? I am gonna go out on a limb and say ZERO. Most would willingly pay SOME taxes in order to have police, firemen, military, and infrastructure. But HALF?? Thats about what most of us pay after ALL the different forms of taxes are squeezed out of us. Don't see 99% of folks paying that.

Many on the Left don't understand this though. That every dollar they get from the government is just money taken from their neighbors against their will. We should take care of the elderly and disabled among us. The able bodied should not be entitled to the fruits of my or your hard work though.

Too many people have convinced themselves that their righteous cause is righteous enough to justify violence to squelch the other side. Absurd. And actually just begets more violence.

There really is no sides unless the sides are insane and sane. This isn't a political thing, its a mental health thing.

Of course conspiracy types on the left are roping in regular people on the left. My buddy (whose dreamer brother is in the process of getting deported, so he hates Trump) thinks Trump is behind this, and there is a lot of buzz. Here are my rebuttals to the points he was making:

Shot distance was professional: not exactly an easy shot, but anybody can make it, so inconclusive. H/T to @YankeeVol who thinks I'm an idiot. His opinions on most things carry no weight with me whatsoever, but I will listen to him about guns. 😆

Shooter escapes: sometimes we are inept, and that is the explanation rather than conspiracy. However, if we can't even figure out who the shooter is, that's a big red flag.

Guy making baseball signs: maybe he was assisting the shooter (why would he need assistance?). Maybe he's security communicating with somebody else on the team. Inconclusive.

Trump message ready to go so quickly: I don't have a problem at all with him having a message ready when the news hit that he passed. Trump probably demanded the hospital (or somebody there) call him first with any news. You can just prepare a message in the meantime for any contingency (dead, stable, etc.). I don't think this is evidence at all.

Cui bono? - the underlying idea that Trump benefits is the most compelling point, IMO, but it's not evidence. Not only is this a distraction from Trump problems, he can use it as a power grab.

Not a vast conspiracy - I find basically all vast conspiracies implausible, but this would only require a small conspiracy.

Conclusion: not nearly enough evidence to make the allegation, but it's plausible.
This is insane

@NorthDallas40
In an age when math, objectivity are considered white supremacist constructs, and biology denial and the wrecking of. childrens' young life is 'affirming healthcare'
Would you be receptive to an opinion that those making those claims are very fringe and those claims are not being adopted as factual by our society?

So the theory emerging is the shooter was a trans/antifa terrorist who shot kirk and then fled and abandoned the weapon nearby, complete with trans/antifa inscriptions. This suggests that the shooter wanted the rifle to be discovered but didn't want to be caught. But if that's the case, why not just leave it on the roof? Taking the gun with him from the roof only made it more likely that he'd be caught.
I think it’s hard to surmise what went through someone’s mind who just killed someone at a very public event, especially if this is their first time killing. It had to be absolute chaos.

Not to be conspiratorial, but if you were going to shoot a political figure for a different reason, and try to get away with it, .....
Yes, my thoughts too. If you want to get your message out there, but still get away, you'd leave the gun on the roof. Taking it with just makes the shooter easier to identify.

What does it tell you that he took the shot, ran, blended in with the crowd, and is on the run ?

What is happening in GAZA is also at the beheast of their own actions that incited the retaliation. It's simple. Stop trying to wipe Jews off the face of the earth and they will not retaliate.
Lots of otherwise reasonable liberals now think of Zionism as basically akin to Nazism. It shows the propaganda is working on them.

The highly funded student “Free Palestine” movement is what’s contributing to the violence and hate we are seeing in America.

It’s about silencing, and using buzzwords whose meaning isn't well understood by those using them.
