We've beaten Alabama 2 of the last 3 years. If we can beat Alabama now consistently why should we rush the field?

I thought the 2024 Rushing the field was silly. It was cool in 2022 but lame in 2024.

The "expecting" has nothing to do with it. It's the "did it". Tennessee has 50 losses in the last 10 seasons. Bama has 16. So, no, expectations have nothing to do with it.

There are adjectives (and nouns) in the English language other than “loser.”

For instance, try describing the type of program you wish Tennessee not to be as a “mediocre program.” Or a “non-entity.” Or a “non-starter.” Or “Vandy-esque.”

Switch it up a little, lest you be seen as posting the same thing over and over. And over. And over…

No **** Sherlock Alabama has won a lot and us very little. Its that track record that creates EXPECTATIONS. That's why Alabama had a meltdown this week after losing to Florida State. They expect to win every game. And that's why they won't rush the field against us later this year if they beat us. Cause unlike our loser mentality fans their fans expect to beat us every year despite the fact we've beaten them two of the last three.

My argument is after winning 10+ games two of the last three years and finishing in the AP top 10 that maybe it's time we stop thinking we're still that pathetic program from the last 20 years and accept we're back among the elite in college football. And that means not rushing the field everytime we beat a higher ranked team.

But I guess pride and self respect are foreign concepts to some people.

Silly it was. 2022 rushing the field was like a fever Dream. People just wanted to feel that again in 2024, but there was no logic.

2022 was completely justified.

If Alabama loses 9 straight to us, there's a good chance it'll happen. The act of winning means a helluva lot more than the "expecting" to win.

Even in Tennessee's "Decade of Dominance" (the 90s based on the video) Tennessee had more losses than Alabama has had in this one. It's not a "loser" mentality to have self awareness.

I don’t have a strong opinion on this either way, but just knowing our fanbase (and particularly the students) if we manage to win next weekend the field will be stormed. I would be shocked if it didn’t happen after last year’s Alabama game.
