Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Not as big of an issue as in the past. UGA basically runs triple option with the new QB. He is not a good passer. We need DBs that can tackle.
I do agree. I’d like to see us take away the TE’s. Make branch beat you. If he goes off so be it but take away the TE’s. when UGA gets the TE’s going that’s when they are elite.

I keep seeing people suggest that Georgia's QB hasn't proven he can beat anyone through the air. I figure when they play us, he's going to have to.

It’s the fact that we constantly have a lot of injuries, and they all linger too
Football is a physical sport. Our trajectory as a program has been better than we could have predicted. We've seemingly overachieved compared to star power, which is an indication of player development and quality in the S&C program. Has CJH indicated that he's worried about our S&C program or its coaches?

I'd read detailed analysis of our injury rate and duration, compared with other SEC programs, if you have your work handy to post. Just saying things like "constantly", "a lot", and "all linger" is vague enough to start internet debates without offering much to the debates, though.

I don't think we do constantly have a lot of injuries. Right in line with what everyone else has from what I can tell.
And the "all linger" claim isn't supported by CJH in his stream today. he said we really only have a couple that may linger a bit, but almost everyone from this week is minor and are expected to return pretty quickly.

How many teams are already down 3 starters, and have at least 3 more with nagging injuries
Lol yeah let me crunch the numbers real quick...

Bama lost their starting RB in the last scrimmage. Ryan Williams got a concussion. And their starting D lineman got hurt on Saturday also. So there's one for you.

Almost every team has a rash of injuries at some point every single year. The issue is that this is the only team you actually follow injury news for.

These being your claims and insinuations that we're worse than the norm, I'd think you would have already done the analysis of all teams and could provide that to us.

That notwithstanding, the first team I looked for has several starters injured, either as a result of the off-season, or as a result of the Marshall game.

Football is a physical game. Injuries happen. It's not productive to knee-jerk question the S&C program that has undoubtedly been a large part of us doing more with less, roster-wise.
