I have to remind myself that the media will always paint a different picture than the actual reality. I’m not referring to propaganda that purposely distorts the truth.
When I lived in Israel back in the 80’s I felt way safer than other places I’ve lived. But if you were sitting at home watching the news in America you would have thought every day tons of buses were being hijacked or being blown up. But that’s what they show on the news because, that’s news. Obviously during the intifada there was a scary period where people were scared to sit in restaurants and buses with all the suicide bombings, but Israel dealt with it with better security and things went back to normal.

I was inspired by this guy and have to remind myself, the news isn’t gonna show you this.
