Looked very mature and experienced. First game prob had a little to do with the high and wide throws a few times. If our OLine can mature, stay healthy, and control the line of scrimmage I think Joey will be fine…not perfect…but fine. You can tell he’s older than most of the kids on the field. I like aspect of it for sure. Defense suffered several injuries and on the last few drives we were down multiple starters. Should be fine though.
Thought he made some great reads and checks. Showed moxie and displayed a solid understanding of the offense. Had a few high throws but a couple dimes that were dropped too.
I would give Joey a B plus. The high throws along with the fumbled exchange knock it down a bit. Overall, he looks the part of what Heupel needs to lead the offense. Throwing three TDs always helps.
He's a definite improvement over what's his name. I didn't appreciate the flop-fest, but it did highlight that Aguilar can run a tempo offense SIGNIFICANTLY BETTER than that other kid we had.
I voted Yes, beyond.
My expectation level for even a transfer with college experience coming into a completely scheme was less than 3 turnovers, about 150yds passing, maybe add 20 or so on the ground...manage the game.
JA did very well today. Showed he can manage the tempo of the offense, for the most part protected the ball, and showed that defenses have to legitimately plan for his mobility.
Picking up that fumble towards the end of the game was pretty clutch. Beyond that, I think he played a great game overall. His second TD was very impressive.
I like seeing a QB who wants to win the game, and is willing to take off running for yards/keep a drive alive and not just stand there like a statue.. He threw some nice passes and missed a few, but over all I liked his play. We can win with this guy
