That's very true also. But I read about some exciting developments in wind power that doesn't use big blades. Some look like a big snow cone and can catch wind from any direction. And Can be serviced at ground level.
That is not going to change any of the numbers significantly at scale and it also doesn't address the real cost that you really can't eliminate capacity as the generation is a wild card and storage. Wind is generally very stupid at scale, solar is just stupid at scale - this comes from someone that generates power. Most of these generation methods are losers as a generalization depending on the application and requirements. I don't see anything in the immediate future to change this.
Modern civilization runs by cheap and readily available energy, this ain't it - nothing wrong with some very small investment in it but its still a loser for the foreseeable future.
