After serving on nuclear powered surface ships and submarines I'm quite aware of the safety and danger of Nuclear power. Nuclear energy is an incredible source of power, it can also be an incredible source of pollution that never ends. It can also be very unsafe. Are you of the mistaken delusion that Nuclear power is unsafe?
I ran an ecological energy company for an absentee owner a couple years in NE Tenn…she went out of business doing repairs on windmills that didn’t work. It takes 12 mph sustained winds to make it work….not to mention government subsidies to pay for them. TVA wisely stopped doing that years ago. Wind is an environmental nightmare and only works under the right conditions. Solar not much better at 30% efficiency but I digress…Nobody is fretting over farms. I explained that windmills were replaced with more efficient energy sources, once they became available.
Such a stupid debate. You can't even find other liberal posters to defend mass production of wind power.
Energy payback is 6-12 months. Cost to install 5-7years. Useful lifespan 20-25 years longer with routine maintenance. Efficiency is being increased as we learn more.
There is no pollution and wind will never run out.
You gotta do the math kwph…without subsidy it takes 12-15 yrs to pay back the investment wt $.10kwhr in Tennessee. In cali it’s 2 yrs with govt subsidies you and I pay for…don’t listen to their BS. These folks don’t have a clue or any experience. Thanks, wanted the clarification. From what Ive seen, 5-7 is the absolute best case, high utility, fed+state incentive fact pattern....
Kiddiedoc said it takes 15-20years to payback costs and lifespan was 20 years. He also mentioned disposal and road building. I suppose he feels oil rigs just pop up without need of roads. As for waste disposal I've never heard of a windspill destroying sealife, windmills that are decommissioned need to dispose of the blades, fiberglass. The rest of the structure can be reused.@kiddiedoc didn't make a wild claim like that![]()

What kind of math do you speak of??? You leave out a lot of info. Payback certainly depends on amount of wind and local power cost. You gotta do the math kwph…without subsidy it takes 12-15 yrs to pay back the investment wt $.10kwhr in Tennessee. Damn you’re stupid. Do the math - Cali is $.30pkwh and ecological energy is subsidized to the max. Tennessee is $.10pkwh and not subsidized any longer because the TVA saw first hand the losses. You have a no clue but for the green new scam propaganda. I watched a really good woman lose $750k on her feel good project. She had to shut it down to a storage garage and then keep employees hired to fill the 5 yr maintenance contracts. You don’t knowWhat kind of math do you speak of??? You leave out a lot of info. Your narrative is misleading. Power is cheaper in the TVA area than anywhere else in the US regardless of subsidies. You're trying to say wind is the only subsidized energy source? Again misleading.
You and so many magas want to believe that solar and wind are pipe dreams. You completely ignore the truths that some countries rely on wind, solar, and hydro for nearly all thier energy. If you get a federal credit and a state piggyback, then yes, 5 years is possible. That's the exception rather than the norm...(And not the case in TN).
The biggest liars on the face of the earth are people who sell solar panels. They make politicans honest....

You want to believe what you want to believe, irregardless of evidence.
How close did you watch that rally woman?Damn you’re stupid. Do the math - Cali is $.30pkwh and ecological energy is subsidized to the max. Agree and that’s round about the same as I said and know 100% from East Tennessee experience.Disagree. The issue now is there's no incentive to innovate, there's only an incentive to produce since the govt is funding 40-70% of it....
My understanding is the government offers a 30% tax credit. What other funding are you speaking of?Disagree. The issue now is there's no incentive to innovate, there's only an incentive to produce since the govt is funding 40-70% of it....
As I said you are stupid. So you can’t understand 30% efficiency on a productI would ask to explain 30% efficiency, but you can't. So spout off anything you wish. Your fellow magas will agree.
