President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

I did some digging. Under nearly ideal weather conditions, it takes somewhere around 15-20 years to actually get a ROI on commercial wind turbines. Want to guess the life expectancy of a wind turbine? 20 years. Then, you have to deal with the decommissioning and waste disposal of all that junk. And this doesn't factor in the service roads, etc and the impact on wildlife.

I don't think anybody disagrees with that. But that also means it shouldn't be crammed down our throats by the .gov.
That's very true also. But I read about some exciting developments in wind power that doesn't use big blades. Some look like a big snow cone and can catch wind from any direction. And Can be serviced at ground level.

There is a much more fundamental issue with both wind and solar which Texas learned the hard way during our recent 100 year cold weather event. Base load power generation. Base load power generation is generation capacity available 24/7 if the plant is online. Solar and wind cannot ever be baseload because they are dependent upon cloud cover and minimum wind levels. Baseload power is nuke, petroleum based, and hydro electric.

So even with it being a lousy investment it’s also unreliable. It’s an absolute joke that people keep putting forth solar or wind as viable power generation capacity when we are in the dawning era of viable SMRs. SMRs should be the go to power capacity first considered for any new power generation capacity.

I do love all the non industry fellas telling us how great it is.

They’re killing my GawdDamn fish.

Any time an unbiased critical review of the technology is done it folds under scrutiny as being applicable for mass generation capacity to add to the grid. The TV show video that is being scoffed at gives a great example. Wind or solar is great out in the middle of the Permian Basin where there is no power infrastructure available. As Thornton’s character stated they are off the grid. This would apply to any remote cabin also solar is a great option. But if the intention is to connect it to the grid when you look at the options today the first question that should always be asked is why can’t we use an SMR here.

What we need in order to make that stuff work is either another Manhattan project or another Apollo project. But the thing is, the .gov needs to incentivize it, not mandate it. Put up a billion dollar prize for anyone that can develop a car that will go 200 miles/gallon. I know the old stories about someone doing that and then big oil either buying them out or killing them, but that is the idea. Incentivize. The left only knows how to mandate. Stop forcing **** down my throat.

Preaching to the choir!! Maybe govt needs to listen to you on this, excellent idea.

Further, it doesn't factor in that the traditional power supplies have to be relied upon when no wind or once you factor in storage it becomes a lifetime negative ROI. Ask Germany.

Monday's order calls for the creation of "an online portal for Americans with law enforcement or other relevant backgrounds and experience." Agency heads then "shall each deputize the members of this unit to enforce federal law."

Looks like Trump is recruiting whatever gravy seals and proud boys that haven't already signed up for ICE to put the big strong Federal government boot on the states.

I'm positive this is what they voted for.

Trump’s Pressure Cooker Is Making Bad Mayors Blink

Chicago’s mayor spent the weekend thundering about “democracy,” “fascism,” and the Constitution. Then he showed up on MSNBC and—under the hottest spotlight of his tenure—stumbled over the simplest question in public safety: would more cops on the street make Chicago safer? Joe Scarborough asked it five times. Brandon Johnson couldn’t say yes. He filibustered about housing, mental health, and youth jobs until he was forced to mutter that the police must be “fully supported.” Translation: with Trump threatening federal muscle, even the most progressive mayor knows he can’t keep sneering at cops.

It’s absolutely ridiculous that they go for a felony indictment and good on the grand jury for telling them to pound sand.

The correct response should be to just write the guy some kind of misdemeanor ticket and everyone get on with their lives. The dude shouldn’t have thrown a sandwich. But a felony charge is ridiculous

Did you see the ridiculous video the white house posted of them sending a whole squad to arrest that guy at his apartment? I think they were going for "badass" but failed spectacularly. I was almost hoping the guy was locked and loaded with another sammy when they showed up, but I think their policy is shoot on sight after a second sandwich toss so he probably played it smart.

I wouldn't recommend doing that outside a "blue" city. They should of went with simple assault, littering, J-walking, or running like a sissy.

Eh being martyred by a second sandwich toss would have been an epic way to go out tho 😂 Pretty heavy on the play stupid games win stupid prices but epic none the less

Yeah they should have absolutely gone with misdemeanor charges but I’m guessing they got caught up in the Felony Assault by Subway precedent 😂

And as far as going for a felony indictment outside of a blue area I guaran-damn-tee you I would laugh in their faces as I stated no way in hell would I vote to indict for a felony if I were on the GJ
