Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I love when I drink something like a Hawaiian Punch and remember about 3/4 of the way through it that red 40 gives me a blistering migraine every time. 👀

Mainly it's red gatorade that does, so hopefully I dodge a bullet on this one
I'll be glad when artificial dyes are fully banned. No need for it and negative health effects.

Post reads like it’s someone else’s recruiting and the coaching staff is trying to overcome their mediocre results.

What you’re really saying is Coaching staff isn’t good enough to overcome their weaknesses in recruiting to catch the Dawgs and Bama’s.

Don’t see anything changing unless a few upgrades are made.

finally, someone who gets it. Good coaching techniques, average recruiters other than defense.

Yeah I know Bowers was a TE, but was saying McConkey partially did as well as he did at UGA because Bowers got a lot of attention. McConkey had a great rookie year in the league though. Those names you just put had some of the best college careers and were likely the best at their position in college.
We dont know how smith’s career will turn out here. But from a prospects’ potential, he would probably be uga’s 2nd best prospect they’ve signed since greene. #1 would probably be pickens. And that’s not say smith is will be really good, it speaks on the lack of talent they’ve have signed over the decades. They are known for being oline u & rbu for a reason. Wr recruiting has been subpar for them historically. A 4*, high ceiling, high school wr clocked at 4.6 would be an uga take every year. Smith chose us over uga and many others, plain and simple

Move the FCS games to spring and make them exhibitions vs in-state schools. Neyland would probably sell out for an April game vs ETSU.
I thought that would be a good idea too. The FCS school would still get paid and we'd get a good spring game. . . better than the non-scrimmage we've been getting.

This could be another way to give people who can't afford reg season tickets an opportunity to see a game in Neyland.

I usually remember not to drink it for a year or 2 then forget, because they haven't split my head in a while. The stuff they put in our food is amazing. I wish I had time to take care of a bigger garden and knew a good butcher that wouldn't charge $2k/cow, I'd buy almost nothing from a piggly wiggly.

It helps to just shop on the outer edges of the grocery store and try to stay away from the center aisles. But yah, they put stupid things in all the things these days.

I mean yeah training groups are going to be a training groups but the original message was acting like Tennessee just can't land any of their kids. When Tennessee is a functional program, it hasn't been a problem. Every training program can be a hassle to deal with unfortunately but Tennessee has landed every single NPA guy they have actually wanted under Josh Heupel beside Carson Sneed and he flipped.

With the people NPA hired in the past year, the whole state just about is going to be associated with NPA in some fashion. Are they just supposed to move on from recruiting the entire state now? This staff feels as confident as ever about keeping in-state talent home. Hasn't been an issue, isn't an issue, won't be an issue with this staff.
Our coaches and leadership were so bad at the time, that I remember thinking it wasn’t a bad idea for those kids to look elsewhere. We were such a trainwreck then. Since we got a good coach, NPA has been very friendly to us.

I retired from fantasy after winning 12 years in a row, try just watching film or check pff grades, or you know any conventional method for this point, it just seems like you looked at some stats and made a bad guess
Congrats, why quit now? Make it 13 in a row. I watch the film. Stats just validate. I prefer mcconkey over pickens. Just because we disagree doesnt make my take a “bad guess”. Regardless, idc how “elite” you think his route running & agility is. He doesnt come close to the wr i mentioned prior (the main point). Uga struggles recruiting high level high skool wr prospects for some reason. They dont have the luxury or history to “pass” on smith.

For some reason, Gatorade gives me heartburn. I can drink Powerade but not Gatorade

He just looks slow to me. Granted some of the best receivers in history ran 4.6s, but apparently after he ran the 40 for Georgia they decided to back off a little. Not sure if that’s true or not, but the person that told me that would have no reason to lie about it
Anquan Boldon ran 4.62 at the combine.
He was 6’1” 222 lbs.

And he was a great NFL WR.

Travis has strong hands. Great jumper. Runs hard after the catch. He’s very physical. He’s probably 4.55? But he’s very agile for his size.

Uga’s high standards in wr recruiting & development are too high of a bar for smith to be considered a take.

- Injured wrist yesterday
- Messaged PCP this AM to refer me to an ortho
- PCP says I need to be evaluated by her first
- I left my office near hospital and drove 40 minutes to her office.
- Waited 45 minutes
- She talked to me for 5 minutes saying "its either broken or sprained" and said "we don't do xrays in-house, I'll put an order in at the hospital."
- Drove 40 minutes to hospital
- She forgot to send the order
- Waited 30 minutes before getting ahold of her office
- Get the x-rays done

Waiting on results. But here's the flow chart:
Severe sprain-> ortho
Broken -> ortho

🤦‍♂️
Man up----rub some dirt on it :) :) :)
