At first I was outraged. Then I remembered that I always found Cracker Barrel a bit too corny anyway. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

One issue is the litmus Cowboys fans compare too

The most dominant five-year stretch in Dallas Cowboys history, by regular-season winning percentage, occurred between 1973 and 1977, when the team compiled a stellar 56–13–1 recordβ€”translating to a remarkable .807 winning percentage .

Summary:

Period: 1973–1977

Record: 56–13–1

Winning Percentage: .807 β€” the highest five-year mark for the Cowboys

This era coincides with one of the franchise’s golden agesβ€”under legendary coach Tom Landry, the Cowboys secured multiple division titles and appeared in Super Bowls in that window, cementing their place as a powerhouse of the NFL.

Maybe try compassion. It’s clear from this you don’t care about your employees much. I’m sure that doesn’t help.

I get stuck with situations like this sometimes. I want to be compassionate first and I understand that I may not know what someone is going through and why they act the way they do. So if they’re that way I give them the chance to share and hope I can lift them up and support/inspire. But also if I find out the reason (and think it’s a nothing burger) or they’re not willing to share then I find myself thinking things like β€œsack up for god sake” or then just get it done with a fake smile and let’s move on.
Agreed. You can be the reason statements away from the edge or goes over it. It’s a tough life when you have the weight of your world on your shoulders. Help someone get through something and they will have your back.

Football is a constant game of adjustments. The Veer and shoot was a dominant system when it first come out. The 3-3-5 defense was part of the answer to slowing it down. Heup mentioned making adjustments this season to what SEC defenses have been doing to slow down our offense. If he is successful then Aguilar will light up opposing offenses imo.
It goes with out saying that coaches make adjustments according to personnel and opponent but it is incorrect to say that Heup's schema has been "figured out." All you have to do is see all the opportunities that have been missed in the last two years. We get half way decent qb play this season and you are going to see something.
Also, I have gone on record that this year's team will not really rely on scoring massive points because this defense is going to be 1st Division nasty.

Using this data there are several 5 year periods when cowboys would have been close to 60% which is tops in league on averages.

Calculating 5-Year Stretch Win Percentages

Let's slide through overlapping 5-season windows and average their win percentages:

1. 2010–2014: (37.5 + 50.0 + 50.0 + 50.0 + 75.0) Γ· 5 = 52.5%

2. 2011–2015: (50.0 + 50.0 + 50.0 + 75.0 + 25.0) Γ· 5 = 50.0%

3. 2012–2016: (50.0 + 50.0 + 75.0 + 25.0 + 81.3) Γ· 5 β‰ˆ 56.3%

4. 2013–2017: (50.0 + 75.0 + 25.0 + 81.3 + 56.3) Γ· 5 β‰ˆ 57.5%

5. 2014–2018: (75.0 + 25.0 + 81.3 + 56.3 + 62.5) Γ· 5 β‰ˆ 60.0%

6. 2015–2019: (25.0 + 81.3 + 56.3 + 62.5 + 50.0) Γ· 5 β‰ˆ 55.0%

7. 2016–2020: (81.3 + 56.3 + 62.5 + 50.0 + 37.5) Γ· 5 β‰ˆ 57.5%

8. 2017–2021: (56.3 + 62.5 + 50.0 + 37.5 + 70.6) Γ· 5 β‰ˆ 55.4%

9. 2018–2022: (62.5 + 50.0 + 37.5 + 70.6 + 70.6) Γ· 5 β‰ˆ 58.2%

10. 2019–2023: (50.0 + 37.5 + 70.6 + 70.6 + 70.6) Γ· 5 β‰ˆ 59.9%

I lean more to the toughen up buttercup side of manhood but I did find it funny that he used winnie the pooh as examples when try to get his employee to buck up.
That is fine for you and me but there those that don’t respond well to that. Sometimes just having another guy sit and listen and not judge helps a lot of men. We are all different and we have to be able to help each man get through things in the way they need.

Sometimes we need someone to listen and sometimes we need someone to give us a kick in the pants.

VQ chat was pretty good:

Merk likely gone after season (duh)
Talked about $$$ and increases
Boo ( I hope they are wrong - if boo is on the team and the best player, play him. Don’t make him sit or play when needed. He is on the team so play him IMO)
Said we could see a few young guys leave early with good season
Keys sounds very likely and would be an epic WR class
Most likely win against big three. Two said Bama and one said Florida. I think Florida in November will be it.
Wym by this? Like for the draft or transfer or..?

Short story - Cowboys are better than their press in the regular season and abysmal in the post season. Part of that is they've faced dominant teams in that period and part is Jerry not giving the QB's or coaches equivalent to the ones they were losing to.

Past speed bumps:
Packers (Farve & Rodgers)
49ers (Harbaugh & Shanahan)
Seahawks (legion of boom)

Just had a hawk or eagle with about a 27' wingspan land on my fence. Biggest bird I've ever seen around here. I couldn't tell exactly what it was, because I didn't notice it until it took off. It must've been sitting there for a minute. Looked like a C17 Globemaster leaving the yard, πŸ˜‚
The largest wingspan on record is about 17 feet. Probably 27 feet when you're inebriated :p :p :p :p
