Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

YOur Pirates got them a star in making in draft in 2024 . Young Konnor Griffin is doing get in minors and projected to make MLB team in 2027 but some are saying as early as next season
Yeah, I drove over to Asheville a couple of weeks ago to see him play when the Pirates' High A team was playing there. Mashed a homer. 19 years old. He played his first Double A game last night in Altoona. He broke McCutchen's franchise record of being youngest to play Double A ball.

Waiting to see how the org screws him up. Sigh....Meanwhile, the Onion put this out there. Actually pretty funny.

The Altoona Curve ! I've been to their stadium, they were out of town, but it was really nice.

I wrecked it one year pretending I was a UT punter (Neil Clabo) and launched a football through the middle of it. Let's just say the Emperor was not too pleased with his apprentice. Lol.

Why didn't Tyson attend UT? Curious if anyone remembers the history.

Someone posted in FB the other day about how minimum wage ($7.xx) is less than the cost of a panera sub and I was thinking like - who you know hiring or working for less than 12 these days? Truly..Unless it is under the table....

I was also thinking no one would have wanted to hire my HS butt at 15 an hour back then. Low wage jobs were for job training and gas money not buying a house.

Yes, but you're old and that was a long time ago. I could get all 'political here'...but I'll save that for somwhere else.

Chicken and egg. We need one of those RBs to commit. Then we have hm in the league. The negative recruiting point (already untrue) is then dead.
Egg is the answer. Evolutionarily speaking.

Now, RB eggs I know nothing about.

Raising base pay is in response to a higher cost of living...not the cause of it. That's exactly what big corporations want you to think. Also, starting pay at McDonald's in Georgia (where I live) is $11 to $15 depending on the position...so that dude on Twitter is FOS or talking about California where they have a higher base pay for fast food workers. Either way, that's not why your tickets or other costs have gone up. There are record profits being made by companies who didn't bring their prices back down when their cost of doing business went down post-COVID. Want to know why something is so expensive? Greed is a safe bet right now unless it's a product with major supply issues. Danny White is an awesome AD, but he's getting a little greedy with these ticket prices, in my opinion.
