Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

What purpose? For people that like corporate political pandering? Especially when it is extremely vague?
As I watch your back and forth, you remind me of someone:

I understand why fans get upset about price increases, but the pure hatred a large portion of the fanbase has for “Danny Dimes” will always seem crazy to me. College athletics changed forever the moment NIL became a thing, and Danny is only doing what he can to keep us competitive. Winning isn’t cheap. If we start losing on a grand scale, prices will adjust some because interest will drop.

The shifting landscape of college sports also doesn’t even take into account that just every single thing is increasing in price year over year. So, regardless of success, why wouldn’t luxury items like attending a football game increase as well? You don’t have to like it, I don’t. It sucks that a family of 4 has to take out a mortgage to go to a football game. I just don’t think this is something that the evil “Danny Dimes” is doing because he hates the fans. It’s just kind of how things are in the era of NIL and inflation.
For the record. You can get pairs of tickets to UAB for approximately 230. That includes all the fees. I mention that game because my son and I are going. We've also been when the tix were basically free. I can tell you which one i am more excited to see, but both were fun. Spending time with your family is usually fun. How you invest those dollars is your own business. I can't fathom the money some people spend on concerts or trips to Disney.

Also if you could buy a pair of season tix right now you could likely break even or make a little off of them. Get some buddies and get on the list. Split them and pay essentially face. Then your issue becomes making max return and selling the games you want to watch or joining me at UAB games and wishing you didn't.

Just stating facts. I'm not mad, but I don't take kindly to complete nonsense.
Sounds like you are getting worked up. You've gone on about it for hours now.

It may be nonsense to you, but others disagree.

Anyway, none of this matters because watching the NFL is like watching grass grow.

i can take my family of 5 to an extended weekend beach trip in a nice condo for less than i can take them to watch the Vols play a descent opponent. It doesn't add up to me...
Depends on the beach. Depends on the time of year. Depends on the condo.

Neyland is a top 5 college football venue and fan experience. Variables to it.

Will the kids remember the long weekend in Panama City more than either Bama or Florida game the last 3 years?

Ok yall, for the ones that have Facebook and have literally 10sec. If you don't care to click the link and click the little box beside the name Zach Shannon to give us a vote, we'd truly appreciate it! Dont have to do anything besides hit the box. Thanks! As always, Go Vols🍊
Done

On the other hand I forgot my ticket at home, drove to Knoxville, and had to buy a second one at the gate from a scalper for an LSU game way back in the day. $5. Why? I bought at kickoff, we sucked (on our way to a 0-6 start), it started pouring rain, and the game was on TV (which wasn’t always the case in those days). I was rooting the boys on as best as I could in my poncho, but we got crushed.

I don’t ever want another $5 ticket.

5 nights at a holiday inn in Destin with 2 bedrooms to fit a family of 5 was 1200 the same weekend as UAB game. 5 tix to UAB was about 575. I don't think the holiday inn was beachfront and the UAB tix surely weren't 50 yard line or SEC caliber. It's all subjective to preference.

Lol this

I’ve had a few different people tell me today and I even heard sports talk. Jay talk about it on his YouTube show that there was a $35 million donation made to the football program over the weekend. Has anyone else heard the same?

Yes. You’re welcome

I liked football better when all it took to have top players was a SS Camaro from Beaty Chevrolet and a few hand$hakes or free tacos. Handing out millions and subsequently having ticket prices increasing exponentially for some nincompoop and his fatass dad leave cause the millions they got wasn’t enough just doesn’t make for fairness.

We’re paying for an uncapped arms race, not necessarily production. Full-time free agency too. This is the worst pro model anyone could dream up. It’s creating a bubble and I’m not going to be sad to see it burst.
