Coal from the Cumberland Plateau has been dying a slow death for a long time. Long before Trump, heck all the way back to the 1980s. The coal is too high in sulfur to comply with stricter environmental controls (thanks to Acid Rain regulations) and the highest quality and easiest to extract seams have already been depleted.I rural Appalachia, a lot of those folks supported Trump in 2020 & and in 2024. I'm sure y'all will bring this down to the mat.
I call on WV, VA, and NE TN - Appalachia - was in Grundy the day Coronado laid off hundreds of miners who, precedent to the election proudly flew Trump flags.
In speaking with folks in that coal town. There def seems to be frustration thus far in this administration.
Look, i'm not going to say that Kamala was the answer. We all know how that wouldve played out.
