Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Many QBs are drafted and suck in the NFL. Far fewer are drafted #1 overall and suck.

To this point, Young is among the worst #1 overall picks of all-time.

Like I said, if they could re-draft…

(Think the Panthers don’t regret taking Young instead of Stroud now?)
He actually played top 1/3 in league when he came back in to start after the mid point in the season

Lol I may be projecting, but seems like some emotional picks in there.

If UCLA Mizzou all under.

What loss are you seeing for Oregon other than Penn state? What a joke of a schedule.
There’s no UCLA on there. That’s Cal you see

Nothing emotional there at all. Indiana, Iowa, USC, UW are all going to be tough games for Oregon. Obviously betting they drop one of those plus Penn State

Would be interested to hear what/why you think any are emotional

The Goat island group on Cherokee used to be good for that. They are out from the May Springs/Grainger County boat dock/Wa-Ni Village "coves". I did it, albeit 40-ish years ago, with no issues whatsoever.
Re: the boat motor issue, I had very similar reactions on a lawn mower. Granted, very different, but after replacing fuel filters, rebuilding the carb, replacing fuel lines, etc., it came down to random pebbles/sediment in the gas tank. After I got a clothes hanger and cleaned out the screened port between from the tank to the fuel line, it has run with no issues at all. Probably doesn't apply in your situation, but still...
I haven't really been to Cherokee Lake since we used to cruise at the dam a loooong time ago, 😂.

I'd say you're right, it has to be something simple in the fuel system. Hopefully we can figure it out in the morning some time. It's a young guy's boat, so trying to help him fix it before someone charges $1k for a $50 fix.

The Rock is wrong. It's been proven bad things happen when @Glitch starts a game thread.

I was a student at Tennessee during that season. I knew both Mark Hovanic and Kelly Ziegler.
Both had the temperament of ‘roid rage. Not saying that they did anabolics, but they were definitely just one step away from violence. That’s the way you want your defensive front 7. 😈

Kelly dated one of my fraternity’s little sisters. She was very sweet, a little naive, and absolutely gorgeous. During parties if she was there, she’d always get hit on. (She never really talked about her boyfriend). My favorite thing to do was to walk up behind the guy hitting on her and quietly whisper in his ear “you’re hitting on Kelly Ziegler’s girlfriend.” It was hilarious to watch the dude’s reaction and then the absolute fear that would overwhelm him. She really thought most of these guys were just being nice and talking to her…😂

My absolute favorite Zeigler story was at an offseason party at our frat house, football players would be bouncers for the alcohol. 99% of the time nothing happened so they got free drinks and we got to hang out with the football team. Well, one party this guy (no clue who he was) crashed the party, he was already drunk. He asked a young lady to dance, she said no. He grabbed her shoulder before she could walk away. She screamed Let me go! Before anyone else could react, Kelly was there behind him. Kelly grabbed him by his belt and neck and just threw him backwards over his head and over the back wall of our frat house patio. The guy bounced on the grass, drunkenly jumped up and ran off, never seen by us again. The drop was about 10 feet from patio level to ground. We asked Kelly if he knew how high the dropoff was? His response was: “who cares. He was causing trouble.”
The band started playing again and it was like nothing ever happened. 😎
Doc’s next patient “well doc, it’s my back. You see I got thrown out of a frat house back when I was in college”😂

I thought it was UCLA, so add in uf mizzou, those are all 3 teams we Vols fans are cheering against, and you went under on all of them.

I don't disagree, I just don't ever bet against teams I hate because I never know if my hatred is what's causing me to assume they'll lose.

Indiana Iowa will be cake walks for Oregon, I'm not sure USC will be any better. Washington will probably be the one to watch for that 2nd loss, but they're projected at 7.5 wins, so I'm just skeptical either can really challenge Oregon.

But it's at Washington and a rivalry game, so definitely a possibility. But to me that makes the under bet a 50/50 at best, so I wouldn't take it.

I like the mizzou bet the most of all your unders. I think they take a major step backward. But again, I hate mizzou lol
