Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

Man, these throws and decisions by Aguilar give me a ton of hope. He goes through progressions, he makes quick decisions, and the ball fires out of his hand. I'm cautiously optimistic about the Heupel/ Aguilar duo.

Others should finally join you in having actually watched game film of Swaguilar.

Guarantee the biggest hand wringers haven't watched a second of film, or picked out his worst film against Clemson or something when he had zero help.

He's so obviously better than Joe or Nico. Just in that game...his first start ever, he is more accuarte, has more touch, poised, gets the ball out quick, goes through progressions better and just a smarter football player than Nico or Joe. Still has a perfectly strong arm!

Then you project him in our offense, wide splits, great running game to take the pressure off and the plays Heup dials up. I think we will be A okay.

The issues ppl are seeing in camp probably come from him only having been there for like two weeks and every receiver is hurt lol.

A lot of people are going to be surprised against Cuse.

I don't think he's here next year. He will be more like Da'Rick Rogers or Tyler Baron. Good, but no legend at UT. I think there is a lot of water under the bridge between him and some team members that will ultimately pull him away.
Yeah, I heard today he was involved in a locker room fight earlier this summer and "was on the wrong end" of it. Probably what prompted him bolting.

Hey man, I’m still a fan of the navy splashed in with it. My favorite sweatshirt ever was navy with the block Tennessee across the front. I would buy another one now if I could find the right fit. Navy with the orange is 🤌.
I bought my wife a sweatshirt (80s?) outside Neyland, it had VOLS spelled out with Naval signal flags. It was something Mills, can’t remember, it was an oatmeal color and she loved it. It’s probably packed away somewhere.

Classic! Don’t forget this one from him I found last night:

“If we want better treatment from Nike it’s on us to improve not to run to a weaker brand.”

I replied to him and instantly regretted it because I know there’s no amount of evidence or information that could ever stand a chance against whatever is going on in that guy’s brain.

I’ll give him one thing though is he’s consistent. I remember when I was lurking here one day way back in 2016 and thinking his takes were bad then. They’ve never gotten any better.

Similar results to last year, but hitting more of the deep passes, would be a huge improvement and would make the offense look far more explosive. I would think the deep passes are worth the risk.
Deep pass turnover hurts but it’s nothing more than a punt via arm. Let the defense go back to business.

We don’t want too many of them but hit a few and the offense instantly changes from the last couple of years….

For most of our recievers showing up to a full practice would be a big step.

Could the whole media session have been scripted to look bad?….Players not returning during open session and not the best routes during open?

I think there could be some gamesmanship going on with that was witnessed by media and fed to us…All Fake News.

Massive! We are about to be back on top, and we will stay there. AND we are going to be elite in many other sports along with it. #EVERYTHINGUNIVERSITY!!!
and Ohio States Nike deal is like 15 yr/252M which comes out just under 17M

yeah, we just made a few schools feel like broke boys

Since all the talk is Adidas, here's an episode of Cautionary Tales that I found interesting and hard to believe (though true). Great podcast, by the way, available on a number of outlets. Always interesting, intelligent looks at the small reasons behind big failures or the obscure key details that you didn't know about things you thought you understood. Here's the spotify link:

Yes. The adidas gear always fit me better than Nike. Nike sizing was not consistent either. One year, 2xl fit me well. The next year, 2xl was way too tight. The next year, it was too big.

I’ll be loading up on the new gear. I challenge everyone to get what you can and show adidas that they made the right decision.
Are you sure it wasn't your body changing through the years :p :p :p :p

when you think about it..$200M for us and hundreds of millions nationwide for other schools..that is a ton of shoes and apparel..Always amazed at scale..Used to have GE refrigerator plant as client, and they pumped out thousands day or week..just one brand and one plant..Always thought who heck buys all these refrigerators.
