Gator respect...who knew?

“Besides The Swamp I would definitely say Neyland Stadium,” quarterback DJ Lagway said. “It was rocking over there.”

“The loudest stadium with the most energy is probably Tennessee, for sure,” linebacker Aaron Chiles said. “Tennessee at night, and we went in to overtime. Tennessee at night.

“Besides Florida, Tennessee. I would have to give it to Tennessee,” Florida defensive tackle Desmond Watson said. “They were a close second.”

Abolverdi’s report states that the star Florida quarterback suffered a calf injury during a team run last week, prompting the move to a boot before fall camp begins.

The injury doesn’t appear to be serious, though we’ll find out more when Florida begins camp on Wednesday. Abolverdi says that “the injury is not thought to be serious,” and that the extent of how much time he misses during camp is still unclear.

That first sentence threw me for a loop.

I was not aware that we beat Florida at all between the end of 2016 and 2022?

I think he is awkwardly including 2016 in his calculation, making 2022 itself the "second win over the Gators since 2016". Very confusingly and poorly worded indeed.

Hate it for Lagway. I still hate the University of Florida, though. Best wishes, DJ.

Not how I want to win if this injury helps us to do so, but I will say this— Injury is a part of football, and those breaks benefit other teams. While Cooper Mays played in the 2023 FL game and Mincey did not, I believe we would have won that game if both were playing and healthy.

That's wishful thinking.

Yup. Granted my writing style is not exactly the pinnacle of the English language, but someone even typing that should confuse them lol.

Florida football QB DJ Lagway throws in camp debut, still limited after summer calf injury

Aidan Gallardo

Gators Wire

Florida football quarterback DJ Lagway made his preseason camp debut on Saturday, taking part in throwing drills while wearing a compression sleeve on his left leg. The sophomore signal-caller has been working back from a strained calf suffered earlier this summer.

It's the same leg Lagway injured last fall when a hamstring strain sidelined him for a week. This time, the Gators are being deliberate with his recovery.
