I am willing to bet a good bit of it is funny money anyway. some of those dollars were already slotted to come here. but they were a bunch of individual deals that either government had very little to do with. so the head honchos got together, packaged all those deals together and slapped their logo on it, and called it "new".Oh I absolutely expect him to ignore it. And then blame it on the next admin when it doesn’t materialize. We already had this with a huge battery facility I think in WI? Or somewhere around there?
Affirmative. Is this from Johnny Dangerously? Lol
That's not true... well not in my case anyway. I want to know what is going on in the business world. I used to get a good glimpse of that in the NY Times business section years ago when it was actual paper, but even they got political in their reporting. I think about the best broadcast venue is Bloomberg, but their graphics are too overwhelming and their hosts are so monotone that I fall asleep. They get hired for the smugness. Pissed the base off more. They tune in just to see what that smug SOB says next
Oh. About bringing manufacturing back to the US. From the article.tHe eXpORtEr WiLl pAy tHe tArIfFs

BREAKING: President Trump strikes another trade deal.
Pakistan and OIL.
“We have just concluded a Deal with the Country of Pakistan, whereby Pakistan and the United States will work together on developing their massive Oil Reserves. We are in the process of choosing the Oil Company that will lead this Partnership. Who knows, maybe they’ll be selling Oil to India some day!”
“Likewise, other Countries are making offers for a Tariff reduction. All of this will help reduce our Trade Deficit in a very major way. A full report will be released at the appropriate time. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump initially put out high tarriff numbers simply to get countries to the negotiating table and those that came to the table Trump said would get good deals. Appears 15% is the tarriff amount Trump was shooting for all along. And then they misleadingly cry foul when they point back to critics' predictions in April about the effects of tariffs when what they've actually done is a third or less of what was threatened at the time.
