Recruiting Forum Football Talk IX

I love how underrated we are. Loveeee being picked 9th.

The media, opposing fans and several of our 8-4 fans don't realize that we are elite now.

We are likely going to remind everyone of that fact when we absolutely demolish Syracuse in week 1 just like we do to ACC teams.
Yep

Theres a reason the staff is pushing these young guys to the field. Thats for sure.

Hot off the presses

I don't think people realize how massive it will be for Tennessee going forward if Joey has a big season and puts up some really big numbers.

The value of that, not just for the teams record this year, but in solidifying elite QB recruiting as long as Heupel is here...is incalculable.

I think the rewards will be great even if he just has a good-really good season, but if has anything approaching Hookers or Lockes numbers...then the future is crazy bright.

Yeah our receiver struggles are likely to be more anomalous than constant. Webb and Nimrod were huge misses in recruiting and everyone else was banged up or just ok.

I think a healthy Squirrel, Donte and Bru last year would have been pretty dang good. But they weren't and Brazzell didn't know what he was doing reportedly.

We are used to having good WR's here, I feel good about that going back to normal. It was also extremely odd we had back to back freak QB's that had puzzling accuracy issues. They didn't process well enough either, but still Heup, with the receivers we had, put them in a position where they had good stats. Joey or even Jake and George...probably don't have that problem where they blatantly miss the most wide open WR's ever. That was very strange. Especially when they'd zip in a dbl covered slant no problem.

Horrible for anyone younger than late Gen X, because at this rate already, the only way most of anyone born after 1985 is going to get ahead is through inheritance.... if we stop letting people die the older generations, who are really benefitting from the present economy and who hold the vast majority of the wealth, are going to keep holding the wealth.

Gen X, Silent Generation, and Baby Boomers are 45% of the population but hold 92% of the wealth. That ish ain't tricklin' if folks ain't pinin' for the fjords.

Edit: also, imo cancer is more prevalent now because we stopped dying of everything else. I think by 1860 like 90% of people didn't see 35. Cancer is an inevitability regardless of how healthy you've lived simply because your body can't keep up with the pace of destroying cells that aren't working right.
Not having a war every 15 years has out a damper on dying earlier

Agreed. Somewhat surpised that the struggles of Milton and 'Whats his Face' didn't seem to knock us down more.

Yeah, Happy Gilmore 2 is ok, but not "good". Definitely now here as good as the original.
i rate it good because of all the pro golfer appearances.

They got John Daly, but highly underutilized him. His drunken bit got old really quick. Should of had him on the course for some parts.

on the down side, they recycled too much stuff from the first movie.

However, the script on Shooter and the LIV mocking was really good.

I thought Bad Bunny was not good for this role. I can't tell if he's just a bad actor or didn't fit the role. They could have done something better with Happy's new caddy.

Because they actually weren't that bad. Milton, after A&M really played solid football. Nico ended up respectable towards the back half too, especially because he was a R-fresh. They weren't JG, Worley or Peterman bad at all. To me, if you take away the horrific overthrows, the rest of what they did wasn't horrible at all. That's why it didn't hurt so bad and Milton is the Cowboys back up. That helps.

Also think, if you saw how they just flat missed guys, any other QB would go "no way I'm missing those" I doubt they think somehow our coaches made them overthrow.

Anybody with a brain that actually watched the games could see that both guys could have had 10+ more TDs and Lord only knows how many more yards just by seeing wide open WRs, hitting wide open WRs, and by wide open WRs not dropping so many of tbe decent passes they did manage to throw.

Most of our fans were too dumb to see that fact.
