Dammit. Stepped on my member… again. Checked with my Astros sauces and nothing but crickets 🦗. Between Chandler Rome and Astro’s Future on Twitter, it would have been posted and neither has yet.

That feels something akin to getting the tip stuck in yer zipper…

The Astros fan site I've been stalking hasn't picked up on the Newman signing either. Not saying it hasn't been agreed to, but they've just been pretty on top of their other signings.

Thought you guys might appreciate this as I've been following the MLB draft signings. There are still a few days left for signings to get completed, so this is a work in progress.

You'd think there would be good information on every single draft pick as to whether they signed or not after the signing deadline. But even today, I still can't find definitive info on about 20 players, mostly in the last 3 rounds.

99% of the top 3 rounds have signed
99% of the top 5 rounds have signed
99% of the top 10 rounds have signed
87% of guys in Rounds 11-20 have signed

Edmondson signed with the Padres. And Newman signed with the Astros.

Yes - there was a ton of movement yesterday with signings. I edited my post above. Estrada also signed for well over slot.

We're up to 81% of all draft picks have signed (not just ours), and that will continue to climb. So let's remember next year, even when we get out of the top 10 rounds, if a guy gets drafted, there's a very high likelihood he's not coming to UT. We're very fortunate we're getting 2 of those guys to campus.

Cannon Peebles signed for $150K today. I updated all my stats above. Only 4 guys taken in the 1st 200 picks of the draft remain unsigned, and as far as I know, only 1 of those guys has said he's going to go to college for sure (Rd 2 pick Angel Cervantes going to UCLA). At this point, 559 of the 615 draft picks have signed with their MLB team. That will go up more throughout the day I'm sure.
