As a teen, I once chopped cotton or cleaned the weeds in a cotton field for 8 hours @ $3.25/$3.35 per hour. Some old ladies in the neighborhood used to go for extra money. The guy paid a flat $25 to avoid having the make change for everyone I guess. I never did it again. I'm not sure I was old enough at the time.

I just question an inexperienced 12 yo being handed a tractor and baler and sent to the hay field. Obviously
