As we all know we already have Ambles and Milton on board, I was wondering what everyone's opinion on how our class will end up? I know we are recruiting Prater and Cobbs very hard, but i just don't see us getting all four of them, i would LOVE it, but can see one of them being a little turned off by that many high caliber guys coming in with them. That said i really hope we can get all of them, as apparently we lead for Cobbs, and i think we are further in it with Prater than most think. That would have to be one of the best WR classes of all time for any team, and if we had all on board before NSD we would no doubt get a QB before or on NSD. But anyways, what does everyone see as our final class of WR, your hopes, or your actual feeling/guess?? And i searched for a thread about this subject and couldn't find one, and didn't really know where else to put it so if the mods feel it should be merged go right ahead.

Might as well throw in Green as part of this class. He won't be eligible this season as far as I know.

Good point. Whether or not we get prater we'll still have Green coming in next season as well....hopefully. Do you really think we have a shot at getting Cobbs?

We're in the running for Cobbs but I doubt we get him IMO. He has offers from Florida, Alabama, LSU, Georgia, USC, Oklahoma, Texas.... That says a lot about our chances of landing him. Pry not good.

Sometimes the fact that a team has several good WR is attractive to recruits because they know Ds will have so many targets to cover, the Ds can't double team them. I.e. ut in 2006 with Swain, Smith, Meachum/ UT 2001 stalworth, Washington, Witten (TE).

Matt Milton 6-6
James Green 6-4
Markeith Ambles 6-2

If Lane and Co. can land 6-5 Prater.... ridiculous.

It's much more likely that we land Cobbs than Prater.

You think so? Fulton and Milton are both friends with Prater I thought... If that's the case then I would think landing Prater is more likely. I also thought Fulton's parents are friends with Prater's parents... maybe I have some of it mixed up. Sorry if I am wrong

If we get Prater or Cobbs to go with Milton and Ambles, I'm not sure that Green doesn't go elsewhere. If Nuke plays well this year, I don't see Green getting in the mix with that kind of WR class.

ive seen many people most on hear that we lead for cobbs, adn most say it will be a UT/Bama battle, depending onwhen he makes his decision, if we have a good year on O then he is ours to lose IMO, kind of the same feeling on prater, except we dont lead for him, but fulton and milton will def be in his ear, and if we can get Corey cooper to switch i really like our shot at him.

Milton and he are casual friends just from the camp circuit. Fulton and he are a little tighter, and that certainly helps. I just think he's going to a school that is already a premier program ie: Oklahoma, USC, Alabama. He's an impact player the day he sets foot on campus. It's just too much for me to imagine landing this kid. I know he wants to get this thing over with before school, but I just don't think that will be enough time for him to make a decision. Alabama fans think he's going to OU. That's where I'm leaning towards as well. Pass-happy offense that just made it to the championship game. #2 QB in the country already committed.

Cobbs we lead for currently, but that could change.

The Midland Recruiting Expert on Scout says that UT is the leader for Cobbs and no one is even close...

Good call then. Maybe landing Cobbs is more likely. I would have to say Cobbs is proof that 40 times aren't always that important. Running a 4.76 hasn't scared the best schools in the country away. Pretty shocking actually because his 26 inch vertical isn't that great either. Weird.

The kid is so multidimensional that I think it's hard not to go after him. He had something like 30+ TDs last yr, he returned kicks, and played both ways. Plus he's gotta be pretty massive for only being listed at 200 and benching 300+ and squating 400+. I'd definitely take Cobbs and be just fine if we didn't get Prater.

Come on man you can't just look at offer lists and assume that everybody that has offered is actively pursuing him.

Our only real competition is Alabama and one other team (who I can't say), but we hold a slight lead right now.

Some schools don't really have to pursue a kid following an offer. Schools like Florida, USC and Oklahoma speak for themselves. Those are schools you go to if you want a good shot at playing in a national championship and going pro. They might not want kids who aren't smart enough to see that for themselves. :wink2:
