It’s an age thing I guess. I grew up knowing that beating Bama was the best feeling in the world and meant you had a really good team and probably the same for them.13-7
Combined, playing and coaching, that's Phillip Fulmer's record against Alabama. There may be another man out there, maybe at Auburn, who has more wins against Bama...but, you'll be hard pressed to find him.
He could have crashed and burned against all others, and his failure as AD goes without saying...he owned the greatest college football program of all time, on the field and from the sidelines; for that alone, the man deserves to never have a bad word spoken about him, imo.
Then again, some of you make me sick for not hating Bama enough.
And the hate spills over into every other sport too, it's not just football. I was raised, and am raising my kids, to hate bammer in everything.........and they both do. Its something that's passed down. Its what VOLS are supposed to do.It’s an age thing I guess. I always remember the line in the Louis L’Amour book The Sacketts(?) after the head of the family was killed, an old Indian Chief asked “who will test our braves, so they can prove their manhood”
Beating Bama still proves “our manhood” for most Tennessee fans.
Appreciate the correction but those above were pretty bad too. Adidas couldn’t get the orange right and those have tire tracks all over those as well.not game jersey - they shipped those to Israel - These are what the team wore![]()
According to historians, archivists, and those that keep it real, Bama wasnt very good back then, so it doesnt count. It’s an age thing I guess. I grew up knowing that beating Bama was the best feeling in the world and meant you had a really good team and probably the same for them.

Preach, BrotherIf...IF...that turns out to be the greatest moment of Heupels term...then he still provided one of the best moments in Tennessee Volunteer history.
The disgusting FACT that we have so many miserable bastards for "fans" infesting our fanbase that give him little to no respect, grace or gratitude after that beautiful powerful moment, condemns that side of our fanbase to be among the worst "fans" in all of sports.
I hate them even worse than I hate rival fans...the Idiot Margin-Legion of the Miserable absolutely disgusts and embarrasses me.
Sorry-not sorry for the out of left field rant...watching that clip, and thinking about that awesome game and season after seeing a lot of stupid comments and opinions posted that are posted here on VN just riled me up.
