I don't put much stock in things like national pride, so that tells me people don't know what they're actually proud of.

I do, however, put stock in ideas. Personal freedom. Secular humanism. Minding your own business.

My urban gallivanting is kinda limited. I use to enjoy going to atl and charlotte but it’s way more trouble than it’s worth. Between traffic, homeless people, panhandlers, and having to watch your surroundings the entire time it just isn’t worth it. I’ve did LA, Detroit, St. Louis, and DC and couldn’t wait to leave. Never did nyc and have no desire to.

I guess I've just grown used to it, honestly. I'd rather have ready access to concerts, festivals, creative outlets, restaurants, and late night life.

Knoxville was about as small as I'd be willing to go, and even then I found it lacking in variety.
