No way!!!
I grew up loving the Braves and Mets, Murphy and Strawberry, but the Cobra and Dave Concepcion always had a special place for me!
I’m so glad Parker was inducted into the Hall, while still living.
Yeah, he was one of my favorite non Cardinal players back then. As were a lot of the we are family Pirates, with of course Stargell being my favorite.

This is a fun subject and this question is for everyone.

Who were your favorite players growing up?

I had a ton...
Dale Murphy
Darryl Strawberry
Bob Horner
Eric Davis
Jose Canseco
Bo Jackson
Jose Cruz
Doc Gooden
George Brett

And for some reason I loved collecting cards of Parker, Concepcion and the Reds.
I never even saw Jose Cruz play a game but for some strange reason, I had a Cruz Astros jersey when I was little and wore that thing all of the time!
I have watched a ton of videos on him now and he was a great player and still one of my favorites.

Gary Carter is another

I remember Parker more as a Red.
I would’ve loved to watched that ‘79 team.
They were so much fun. In one of my moves across country, I came across a scorecard I kept of a Cards Pirates game during the we are family days that I went to. The great Phil Garner was playing as well.

Can anyone think of a movie or novel in which the protagonist is having to live near-simultaneously in two realities, which may or may not overlap? Could be sci-fi, psychological drama, or a comedy.
I watched a movie with Ethan Hawke that was pretty wild, with a crazy twist.
But the name escapes me, sorry.
Any classics that come to mind?

He was definitely a childhood favorite.

I'll be checking out the ones that y'all have recommended.

Earlier I was just thinking about AI created chicks & images, how much time people spend and will spend in the cyber world, and what it will be like for our brains and society as cyber-reality and reality-reality compete for human attention.

I know what the current psychological studies are finding, but wondered if anything similar, unrelated to the internet, had ever been explored in film or print.

I guess Pam Ewing would say, "The 9th season of Dallas." ;)
