That’s like saying a doctor can’t diagnose or treat obesity unless they’ve been obese themselves.

Prior to being a politician the man has 0 noteworthy accomplishments. A doctor doesn’t have to be obese to be a qualified doctor. But a doctor does need to have done something noteworthy prior to getting into medical school.

The man lived off his parents for 3 decades and cries about how people don’t have money, yet he’s never done anything to make money.

It’s the same pathetic nonsense you hear from the left constantly.

It is effectively like having a Doctor that did NOT attend Medical School. Basically this guy:

The is my biggest issue with this loser and those like him. He cries about the distribution of wealth, but has never done anything to create any wealth.

Instead he’s mooched off his wealthy parents for 3 decades. Basically a younger Bernie
It’s a battle cry to get elected. Those elected receive the perks of the message while those who fall for it are used as pawns.

@Vol8188 then again, you may want to be careful on the lack of political experience argument as that fits Trump as well. Not sure if you are MAGA or not.

Issue is that this Zohran guy is promising a bunch of checks that his ass can't cash. Nothing of what he says is going to reasonable work and our idiotic voters buy into it because it sounds nice to them. It is exactly what Aristotle, Polybius, and others warned us about in Democracy and it has plagued our nation the last 80 years or so.

This is why I think Democracy is failing and we won't be one after 50 years or so. We are probably heading the way of the Roman Republic and will eventually have our Augustus.

In no way did I claim “lack of political experience” was an issue. Lack of real world experience and accomplishments is 100% an issue.

Make promises, get elected and figure it out as you go. Come to realization you can’t do what was promised so you campaign again on the job is not done.

A lot of times there is a significant difference between what a politician proposes and what the actual implementation is. I could see a scenario where the government doesn't own the stores out right, but goes into Partnerships with current or future grocery store owners. Offering special allowances and waivers as long as they operate in an undeserved area with a limited profit margin.

The specifics I listed are more concept than actual so I could provide some context.
I don't think it needs to get anywhere close to that. remove red tape that encourages every middle man a union worker. reduce the tax burden on the grocery stores at some rate tied to how underserved that neighborhood is. let the police actually enforce the laws on theft. maybe work out some program to station cops in/near the stores. work on providing neighborhood improvements that protect the stores, better lighting, more security cameras.

and depending on what is in that partnership it would still be fairly socialist. imo.

not necessarily. presumably his education would still have taught would have taught the doctor the dangers of being obese. far better than being obese would.

this mayoral candidate does he have any formal education, training, or experience dealing with income inequality?

most admitted socialists are the WebMD of doctors.

Biggest issue I have is people like this talk about wealth redistribution but it’s never their wealth being redistributed. You’ll see scum like this guy and AOC’s net worth sky rocket; they only get richer.

People still don't realize, it isn't the people winning office that is the problem with our system, it is the people ELECTING these options.

The people of the United States and their ignorance are the problem.

I did a political survey and I said that. i said the nation is going in the wrong direction and it is not just because of politics. We can't save this country through Government.

As a Christian, I don't think we need a Christian President or Congress, I think we need a Paul, Silas, Barnabas, etc. to travel the country and save us on an individual level although I fear we are like Old Testament Israel and have hardened hearts that wouldn't listen. God basically told Jeremiah to stop preaching to them and that He was done with them.

Bernie will never complain about the millionaires, because he’s part of that group. It’s always the guy making more than me who is the problem

Sending a letter to the AG to have a U.S. citizen's citizenship taken away over politics is not par for the course IMO
On that, I agree. I noted that in my convo with Tsar.
In the latest post, i was talking about the name-calling currently being discussed.

Over politics I agree. But in principle I do support the idea of revoking citizenship if it can be proved someone intentionally lied about something significant on their application. It can’t be a minor oversight or a political disagreement however.

Sure. I get the philosophy of free market. Those ideals align with ours. That's how it  should be done. But that is not how Zohran(sp?) is going to do things. His plan will be socialism. I am saying what he proposes and the final iteration applied are likely altered.

Example of a lie egregious enough to warrant revocation of citizenship?

Perks of being the one on the ballot.

Can’t claim it’s a well thought out list because prior to reading the post a few minutes ago I hadn’t thought much of the topic (so I reserve the right to completely disagree with myself at any point!).

But it would likely be related to membership in a foreign group, Hezbollah, MS-13, MI6, etc. If not initially disclosed that would make a massive difference in any decision to accept and/or deny an application.

Health related factors too. I see people for TB testing occasionally as part of the process for obtaining citizenship. If you forged those documents, that should be held against you

Oh, I see your point better now. I thought you were talking about an application to run for office. But you're talking about an application for citizenship. Never thought about it either, but I can see the reason it might be a good policy.

Just thought of this...do you think there are any tweets of politicians wanting the citizenship of Elon Musk revoked?

He used to use the phrase "millionaires and billionaires" in his rhetoric. He dropped "millionaires" when he became one. It's just billionaires he complains about now.

Tweets, probably, but those people suck. This stuff, I doubt it

That's the essence of my post. This is political discourse. It's dumb. But free speech is protected.
His letter is idiocy. It's a political stunt. Hopefully his constituents are motivated to vote for a better person. But I doubt it.
