Yes. Of course! Why would America (or anyone) abide by a multi-country agreement that isn't working and only effective if we remain regardless of the participation by the other countries?
I believe Iran's government was very secular but the people weren't so much so. Hence the clerics at the head of the revolution.
The clerics were very well liked before the revolution and very much disliked after the Ayatollah had been in power for a while, or so I've heard.
I can only hope they have both. Personally, I am much more isolationist with respect to our military and much more globalist in trade and diplomacy. America has overstepped into many countries affairs. I would like to see a cultural shift away from that. Let other peaceful, respected, democratic countries step up to the plate. Uncle Sam needs a respite. But, will any have the desire and wherewithal?
I don't know why I would be concerned with what warhawks believe. As a source, they are worse than those who post on X. The source I referenced was from the UK.We've established that 99.5% of their uranium was enriched after their departure from the deal. IDC if warhawks have the opinion that it wasn't working.
There's a whole lot wrong there.Politics and religion mix VERY VERY VERY well if you're willing to be hardcore enough about it.
Israel and the Saudis show this. Heavily religious based govts that rule their countries with an extremely firm grasp.
Some would say Americans lack the religious zeal to create a truly Christian nation and that amending the Constitution to reflect America as a real Christian nation with Biblically based laws would be the best thing America ever did.
I'm just saying nations DO thrive with politics being tied heavily to religion. They mix well but you've got to have a population which is REALLY committed to a religion. America isn't ACTUALLY that Christian, obviously.
This much hoopla about Iran bombing the base in Qatar with all the evacuation taking place makes me think this another situation in which they warn America and attack symbolically without significant casualties.
Hope I’m not wrong.
how does "no new wars" sound now?
how about fixing the budget deficit?
either Trump was lying from day 1, or he was manipulated into doing something he didn't want to.
Social media is inundated with AI and video game style footage of rockets and missiles being launched. The propaganda machine is in overdrive.
I've seen a lot of dumb "the carriers are back in the sandbox" type posts as well.
Israel has separate courts for different religions and such. Muslims and Christians are not expected to serve in the IDF but can volunteer while Jewish citizens are expected to serve in the IDF. Israel is a blended theocracy. There's a whole lot wrong there.
Israel's not a theocracy where everyone must conform to the government's ideal. There's freedom of and from religion.
KSA, and Iran, are theocracies in that they enforce strict religious rules in day to day life for the common people. The rulers don't pay much attention to religion in their lives though, which happens with theocracies. The Saudi rulers are more concerned with making money and politics. They're famous party animals when they're out of country. The clerics in Iran are busy maintaining power and they use some very irreligious means to do that.
Let's hope that many many more forever say 'screw paragraph 3 above, we'll keep our secular government'.
