Trump promises and proposals tracking thread.

ah, I get what you are saying now. is it really broken down by month?

That is pretty scary that the biggest single payday to our government doesn't generate a larger temporary positive in income vs expense.

It does not just account for ppl who pay annually. Businesses like myself pay quarterly.

Absolutely 100000% agree here

Has to be across the board with no sacred cows. Until then, just rearranging the chairs on the Titanic...
Problem is everyone is for cuts to spending till it impacts them..just like defund the police until their home get robbed or family member killed l

Don’t cut police.

Cut welfare. Force ppl on welfare to work or have children in school make C or higher and drug test. Welfare is a last resort and should be done to help people get back on their feet, not live a whole life off.

Snap and food stamps need highly modified.

When I owned a call center I had employees selling their food stamps who made 15 an hour and had free Obama phones.

The more that comes out about the preceding administration, the more it seems the ONLY Trump promise that really mattered was, "I will not be like Joe Biden."

April is always the highesr surplus month of the year. It's largely from people paying their 2024 taxes, paying their Q1 estimate (95% of the time is based on using prior year exception) and businesses paying taxes/estimates the same way

Show me a surplus in May and we're onto something....

You have really taken a small throw away post that was completely non partisan and ran with it to the point it’s almost absurd but you incorrect on the quarterly part.

I own 6 businesses. A restaurant. A commercial property holdings company and a personal holdings company, a bar and my main business I am not disclosing.

End of every quarter, I meet with my account and we go over the 941s, suta and net and what is owed we pay real time. Done this for over 15 years and any small business worth a grain of salt that is a pass through does.

Either way….it was just a statement about the surplus and I made zero comment in it and you are assuming to create a narrative.

Let it go.

If you want some rage bait I’ll give you some. I don’t think unless u have a job, own land, or a business, or are retired age 55 and over you should be allowed to vote. Roll with that.

You posted the boomer bait (just like several others). April is always in a surplus because people are paying prior year taxes and their quarter 1 taxes. The IRS allows people and businesses to pay their first quarter estimated income taxes using a prior year safe harbor. Almost 90% of Q1 estimates (per the IRS's own numbers) are utilizing prior year safe harbor exception. Any CPA worth their salt knows that.

The only narrative Im saying is the one month of surplus (that is always in a surplus) does not mean we are closing the deficit or even putting a dent in it. Still going to be right at 2T. If you think it was a narrative about the Biden admin doing a good job, I apologize since that wasnt the intended message. If your intent wasnt to try to pat the Trump admin on the back, then I apologize. The first 5-6 people who posted that similar surplus were doing that in a way to show Trump created the surplus, which isnt the case.

Even with the biggest annual deficit we ran ever (21-22), April 2022 was the biggest surplus ever.

This thread is to monitor the things Trump said he will do while campaigning and during his term. We will update it to show new proposals, progress, and results (or lack thereof). Orange font means a verified promise.
To be accurate, this needs to be a community effort. If someone wanted to make this into a spreadsheet, I'm sure it would be a much better format.

For this, a proposal or promise would be anything offered in a definitive manner ( "I/ we will"..."going to"..."from day 1"...etc. NOT, "we should", "I think", "suggest"... "look into", etc) from Trump. (maybe need to include his cabinet, too?)

As the thread grows, I may miss an addition buried in discussion. Please @ me to make sure I see an update. Thanks.

Please post promises or proposals you are aware of and the tracking of progress in the future.

From post #70:
45. Revoke Joe Biden’s policies on “gender affirming care”—a process that includes giving kids puberty blockers, mutating their physical appearance, and ultimately performing surgery on minor children.
46. Sign a new executive order instructing every federal agency to cease all programs that promote the concept of sex and gender transition at any age.
47. Ask Congress to permanently stop federal taxpayer dollars from being used to promote or pay for these procedures.
48. Pass a law prohibiting child sexual mutilation in all 50 states.
49. Declare that any hospital or healthcare provider participating in the chemical or physical mutilation of minor youth will no longer meet federal health and safety standards for Medicaid and Medicare—and will be terminated from the program.
50. Support the creation of a private right of action for victims to sue doctors who have unforgivably performed these procedures on minor children.
51.Direct the Department of Justice to investigate Big Pharma and the big hospital networks to determine whether they have:

Deliberately covered up horrific long-term side-effects of “sex transitions” to get rich at the expense of vulnerable patients.

Illegally marketed hormones and puberty blockers, which are in no way licensed or approved for this use.
52. Direct the Department of Education to inform states and school districts that if any teacher or school official suggests to a child that they could be trapped in the wrong body, they will be faced with severe consequences, including, potential Civil Rights violations for sex discrimination, and the elimination of federal funding.
53. As part of our new credentialing body for teachers, we will promote positive education about the nuclear family, the roles of mothers and fathers, and celebrating rather than erasing the things that make men and women different and unique.

Ask Congress to pass a bill establishing that:
54. The only genders recognized by the U.S. government are male and female—and they are assigned at birth.
55. Title IX prohibits men from participating in women’s sports.
56. Protects the rights of parents from being forced to allow their minor child to assume a new gender identity without the parents’ consent.
57. End inflation. Slash energy prices in half in 12 to 18 months. (Mojo post 856 with special acknowledgment to @Tin Man )
@McDad I think we can mark #28 as a failure.

Is his term over?
Keep in ming, it isn't highlighted in orange so we don't know if it was a real promise or something he said off the cuff. I put it on the list of promises. But I don't think anyone who is politically savvy believes he (or anyone) can secure peace in Europe and the Middle East.

@LouderVol, I set the thread up to track the promises and give a check mark if delivered. The undelivered or "failures" will be the ones without a check mark

15 an hour is not a livable wage

Could be argued that taking nuclear capabilities puts they middle eat is on fact helping peace

It could be. The counter argument to that is when people hear a promise of securing peace, they don't expect it to be gained through violence/attack/war.
Peace is often obtain more through violence then anything else... The peace is the result of removing the the threat

Understood. But think about your expectation when a leader promises peace in a region. Are you thinking the approach to achieve the peace is with violence? The only time I would think that way is if we are already engaged in war with the region discussed.

Me personally... My thoughts are so what you need to do to achieve peace.... if talking doesn't work them peace is achieved thru violence... they tried taking and ultimatums.. You achieve peace thru strength not weakness.

Crazy thing is I would think those on the left the are for gun grabbing, or limited the the purchasing on gun (court shot down on CA) would be on board with stopping weapons being made to save lives..

When politicians make those promises, I default to peace achieved through diplomacy.

To be fair though, if djt and congress declared war on Iran and Russia which resulted in peace, then we would check that off as promise delivered. (Even though I don't think anybody wants it that way).

how did that work out for us in the past? Things got more peaceful in the area the less we were involved.

Its no mistake that the last 5ish years have been the most peaceful after we reduced numbers in Iraq. reduced numbers in Syria.

We leave them alone they beat up each other. we stick our noses into their business, everyone in the region hates us more and "unify" to attack us.

Its barely 30k a year. Rent is $800 if you're lucky. Do the math. Yeah it's possible if you live with parents, but that's the point of a livable wage
I'm on disability and make less.. Supporting a girl and child..I work part time for 13 an hour... Don't love with my parents... Have a car, internet, streaming, ps 5, grill own washer and dryer.. It can be done but you have to live within your means...
