We should stop caring about the optics and finish the mission. When all the Ayatollahs are dead, the mission will be complete. Colin Powell made the same mistake in GW1 - at that time. Should have gone in to Baghdad and killed Saddam. But he did the politically safe thing. That being said, years later, Saddam should have been released when Nick Berg had his head sawed off on the interwebs, so maybe CP made the right decision... sort of.

And the replacement is worse than the original.

Here’s how things work. A cheap and plentiful product is on the market that outperforms all competition. Competition comes up studies saying it’s dangerous, causes cancer and pays lobbyists millions to get the government to ban it. Meanwhile their products are just as dangerous and toxic and don’t work nearly as well but the mouth breathers suck down the propaganda.
