Padilla Forcibly Removed from Noem press conference, Handcuffed​

Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) was forcibly removed and then handcuffed after he interrupted a press conference Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem held in Los Angeles.

Video of the incident shared by a Fox News reporter shows multiple men restraining Padilla and forcing him out of the room, while other video show they later push him to the floor to handcuff him.

“I’m Sen. Alex Padilla. I have questions for the Secretary,” Padilla is heard saying as multiple people push him out of the room.

As he is thrown out two double doors he can be heard saying,” Hands off!”

Democrats are scrambling to shift the fight away from immigration, instead highlighting Trump’s use of executive powers.

SAN FRANCISCO — Gavin Newsom has rallied Democrats in his war with Donald Trump, casting it as a fight for the future of American democracy. But maybe not for long.

As the left watches the clashes in Los Angeles drag on — with images of burning vehicles and protesters brawling with law enforcement proliferating — Democrats are also beginning to fear the imagery could hurt them by highlighting Trump’s hardline positions on immigration that helped propel him to the White House.


“It’s a winner for him. Remember, for (Trump), it’s not California, it’s not Massachusetts, it’s not New York — it’s that slim margin in the battleground states that he’s playing for,” said Kevin de León, the former Democratic leader of the California state Senate. “He’s not going to pull back.”

For Democrats, it’s a concern rooted in Trump’s historic strength on immigration with voters not in Los Angeles, but watching on social media and TV in swing states and districts across the country.

As usual you come with no facts. That idiot barged into the press room & didn't ID himself & started shouting out loud at Noem. Showing no respect to anyone. They thought he was another lunatic Dem like usual so they threw him out. So now, as usual, he's playing the victim to those that slapped handcuffs on him. He didn't act like a senator or as if he belonged there. He's a cry baby. Look at how he was acting from the video below. Acting combative and being loud for the cameras.

My response was to 88's list. The scenario you are describing is a bit different. If she is pulled over with someone they have a warrant for , I expect her to comply. If the police have cause ( In your scenario they do) Then the inconvenience of her being detained for not identifying herself would be the least of her problems.

So many questions? Where was Noem? Did she know he was there? Did this start respectfully? Why is the camera on him? How long was he there before they removed him? What were his questions?

Noem was speaking at her press conference at the podium. No respect whatsoever was shown to anyone there. See the video posted for the answer to other questions. It was live on TV when this occured.
