President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

Never witnessed that a single time, some places required a mask. But not a vaccine, I will never let the right forget that,EVER
I assume you are in Tennessee? The redder states usually didn’t require proof of vaccines. But blue states often did. And in every state, members of the military and a lot of federal employees had to prove vaccination status or lose their jobs.

Overseas was really bad BTW. In Austria and Germany I had to show my vaccine card everywhere I. 2022. The Swiss were much more chill about it.

It was definitely Biden's responsibility that so many entered illegally. But illegal entry has been going on under every administration.

The way deportation is being handled is shameful. Trump and many of his supporters yak about violent criminal and "very bad people". Well heads up,those types are not enrolled in college, don't work in kitchens, pick fruits and vegetables or on construction sites. And who the hello needs to wear riot gear armed with long guns to arrest a dishwasher

I am in Tennessee, a 7 month camping trip took us thru north and south Carolina,?Ga, Florida, Mississippi,Louisiana Texas and Alabama some but certainly not all required a mask. No where was proof of vaccine required.
My VA doctor is anti vaccine he never received one and flat told the uppers he would not. He's still there.

Why? Is it not the law--that is, as long as the worksite is a public place.

And how is sweepig them into the immigration process unlawful? I don't understand.
We can't change what has been done. I think Biden handled immigration horribly. But make no mistake he invited those people in, with open arms. Now, we can handle enforcement of immigration laws ethically. It we can just start grabbing people off the streets after welcoming them.

The latter doesn't make sense if you believe in treating people ethically. Now I wholeheartedly agree with targeting the criminals among them. As you come across others who haven't committed crimes you refer them through the immigration system for processing under the law. You don't snatch them up off the streets unless you have a court order or warrant for their arrest.

Those abusing the system need to be held accountable for doing so. But that's decided by judges. Now we must also demand they do their jobs.

You keep saying "refer them through the immigration process" as though ICE detaining illegal aliens for hearing/deportation is not part of the immigration process.

I literally cannot comprehend your argument. Are you saying that ICE is arresting illegals off the street and immediately dumping them into the Rio Grande?

I'm saying I support ICE targeting and detaining criminals. I do not support them profiling and snatching people from their job sites and cars to check their status.

If they make contact with illegals during their operations then refer them through the normal process.

It's really not that difficult. How ****** would it be for someone that was told to come to America with open arms to be arrested and detained for being an immigrant. Put yourself in those shoes, it would suck. Target the violent and criminals that's fine with me.

Sure. We can both feel bad for them. And you are welcome to your opinion of what you do or do not support.

But again... You act like ICE isn't part of the normal immigration process.

ICE checks for proof of citizenship.
If failed, ICE detains them.
That funnels them (back) into the normal immigration system, via a part of the normal immigration system.

I think I understand your argument better. It's an appeal to/from emotion as opposed to a discussion about what ICE can legally do.

It's an appeal to how it is enforced/implemented. That is correct. What happened in South Nashville wasn't ethical.

I'll add neither was the slimeball mayor doxing agents.

Doesn't mean it didn't happen. Here's just one example.

Be careful, Fox is shifting the terms of the argument in hopes that no one notices. The original claim I made was that people complaining that ICE is requiring people to “show their papers” where often the same one demanding that people show their proof of vaccine cards to patronize certain businesses, travel, or retain employment. Fox seemed to counter that that never happened. When provided examples of it actually occurring; the claim shifted to “well it wasn’t required EVERYWHERE. Not even the least bit subtle slight of hand

Yes. Even though it may upset one's delicate sensibilities, people are profiled. Profiling is why you and I avoid going into neighborhoods that look sketchy. Or passing by the bar with the all Harleys parked outside. It's why that one poster gets nervous when a brown person gets on an airplane.

So, yes. There are people who fit the profile of an immigrant. That profile raises questions about their status and they get questioned. I hope 'questionable citizenship' makes more sense to you now.

at its heart profiling is just lazy. there is a difference between being "on guard" because you are dealing with someone who doesn't look like you, and taking preemptive actions because that person is different than you. especially at a national/racial scale.

you can't claim self protection when you punch every mexican looking person in the face just because you profiled them as potentially dangerous. they give you a reason to punch them, sure go ahead. just saying they are tan is no justification for any aggression you, or the government, takes.

you would maybe have a point if there was some nation with people with purple skin who magically popped up, who never had legal access to the country and ICE was going after people with purple skin. but thats not the case.

even if you believed there were 25 million illegals, and each and every one of them was latino, that still wouldn't even make up a majority of the latino population in this country. based on pure numbers your, the government's, profiling is going to be wrong more than 60% of the time. that is absurdly inexcusable.

They're not profiling on skin color alone.

Nonsensical word salad, Louder.

They shouldn't be here. So I am confused as to why the worry that they are being taken out. Process has to be followed. That's to protect people who do belong here. In fact they make public opinion of legal immigration harder to support. They take away from the understanding that a path way to citizenship is difficult in this country. They are a massive problematic distraction
