That's so ridiculous. No. It is not the function of United States Marines to assist law enforcement officers on American soil. This was wrong and gross overkill.

Some of you really will defend any stupid stunt that Trump pulls. This was all about public spectacle.

I honestly don't immediately recall. I do know that while obviously any event that brings in the NG is at least tangentially associated trying to just say 2025 LA riots=Kent State is a big, big stretch.

Your reading comprehension skills are atrocious. They aren't assisting law enforcement officers. They are there to offer protection for them and federal facilities, if needed.

I have been skeet shooting and am not sure how that compares. I have never had a skeet shoot at me, hit me, throw bricks at me. It always cracks me up when people discuss cops bc it is an entirely different level of pressure than most of us have ever faced.

One of my favorite videos was of a black pastor that was invited to go through officer training. He had been protesting the cops for weeks. They put him in realistic scenarios. He started the training being cautious when firing his weapon. By the end of the training, he was running and firing his gun behind his head without looking at what he was shooting toward.

Maybe that cop hadn't had any of that either. She and he had both been stationary for a while so he should well have known she was press and wasn't a threat. She didn't make any furtive movements; he just wheeled and popped.

If they are protecting law enforcement officers, then they are assisting them.

.... and to deploy 700 United States Marines just to protect some buildings on American soil, is as unnecessary as it is overkill. The National Guard would never be insufficient for such a thing. This was purely for show.

What are we doing?

8 years ago this board was vociferously arguing that Trump was not even an ideological authoritarian. Now that he's actually turning up the dial on authoritarianism, nobody in here is turning that fervor onto him.

If you cared so much about denying the allegations then the allegations were bad, and it's wild that the right is not joining the protesters. This is what authoritarianism looks like. It's right in front of your eyes. In the last two days we've had multiple arrest threats against a governor, the admin used scare tactics vs. ABC, and now we're threatening the right to protest. It's over. Authoritarianism is officially here, but we can still win. All you have to do is turn on Trump.

She’s not stationary in the video and idk how you can claim she was stationary for “awhile” unless you have some longer video than the one posted here previously

First generation american whose parents are from Venezuela, isn't going to be in the facial scan database of foreigners, and isn't going to be carrying a passport. they fail your test, and at least detained, until they can prove their innocence.
