What happened to the old adage that you don’t denigrate the dead.Whoa? The first post I saw today. I just walked past Marie Laveau’s tomb in St. Louis Cemetery No. 1. in New Orleans ten minutes ago.

Reminds me of a time when I was in New Orleans at the Fair Play Saloon and met a man named Lestat who became a good friend for a while. . .Whoa? The first post I saw today. I just walked past Marie Laveau’s tomb in St. Louis Cemetery No. 1. in New Orleans ten minutes ago.

"The cemetaries weren't gated back then" ... my son went to JRR Tolkien's grave in the UK ... except, was "after hours" and small cemetary was all gated off and closed for the day. But, he said, I am a Tennesseean, and didn't come this far to be turned away. So, found a tree with limb over fence, climbed up, dropped in. Not sure what kind of tribute he left, or how got back out, but, he did. Here’s the mausoleum that tripping Peter Fonda’s character had climbed and was sitting in at the end of the movie “Easy Rider.” Our guide said Fonda broke the hand off the statue and the family was pissed. No one knew who had been up there until the movie came out. The cemeteries weren’t gated back then.
