President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

Why can't the trump crowd realize humanitarian aid fosters good will? Now our enemies can move in and inherit the good will, then more America hating countries will pop up. Seems some people think bombs will bring them around to loving America
The Trump crowd? How many countries did Obama bomb in his 8yrs? How many were absolutely destroyed during his tenure?

Despite the clever acronym Usaid is not about aid it's a cia program used to influence foreign govt in ways our fed govt can't. It's a bypass/workaround to approved spending. Our enemies do the exact same thing by buying influence. You think the Chinese are installing network hardware so that everyone has unrestricted access to information?

Quit acting like this is some altruistic program being cut and realize it's simply expanding us govt influence into places that likely don't want it

Can't argue that this isn't a libertarian position. @utvolpj it's cool if you aren't on board with this, but you had me spooked there for a second that I didn't vote for a libertarian.

Not a serious one. He has years of history that I believe outweigh his libertarian epiphany. Anyone can read a platform and copy/paste. Trump did it to the gop

I just don't think you can be wrong in all your individual stances yet add a qualifier and all is good. My personal opinion

Plus he took shots at Ron Paul which shows he doesn't really get it

Yeah, I can't argue with "I didn't believe what he said." but we all have to have the libertarian epiphany at some point, and libertarianism is basically all about having controversial views, but not imposing them on anybody. I mean, really. That's libertarianism in a nutshell.

He's been a member of the Libertarian party for 15 years, BTW. Speaking of the epiphany, he has almost the exact same origin story as me, just flipped. I voted for W 1 time and foreign policy led me to libertarianism. He voted for Obama 1 time, and disillusionment over his foreign policy led him to libertarianism. The difference is he immediately joined the LP. I never have.

He's not in line right now

He's not right now and may not need to since 53-47. But when he had to get in line for TCJA and the trillions of debt for that, not only did he get in line, he advocated for it to be permanent which would have added tens of trillions of debt....

Sen Paul can only do so much

The person (Oliver Chase) was on the ballot, BTW. But he wasn't promising to deport Moms
Well I would be out on him if he wasn’t going to fix the border crisis. If Libertarians want to get a bigger voice then they need to be more involved in local politics. They also need to use social media to get the message out to more people.

Yep, it’s easy to claim you are a fiscal conservative.

I believe that he largely is. But I'll call out the hypocrisy in his support for TCJA and wanting to add tens of trillions of debt to make it permanent.

Hawley, Johnson, and Cassidy are absolute phonies when it comes to fiscal conservative.

Right. We know. As we've already established, you care more about deporting Moms than fiscal responsibility.

History of TCJA getting thru Senate.

Im against the bill. Im against the debt, Im against the debt.

Insert bourbon and coal tax break

Im for the bill. Let's make it permanent.

I have met many people over the years in the restaurant industry that came from China as younger adults and yeah, they have to pay back their debt to the criminals that assisted them in gaining access to the US. Ultimately, they have a much better life AFTER the debt is erased.
That is true of EVERYONE.

Oh. Wait...

Cognitive dissonance. It's a thing with Trumpers and their lackies.

KILL the BILL': Elon Musk continues to blast Trump's bill in barrage of social media posts

But, but, but... [insert whataboutism].
OK then. Which is it? Is Musk an ass or a hero?

Your time to shine sweety.

The left wing projection on this topic has been insanely hilarious.
I don't know if hilarious is the word I'd use. The like to speak of cognitive dissonance. I think that applies in their case quite nicely. In aviation we call it a lack of situational awareness.
