Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

Glad to see Roberts step in here. Comply to FOIA before we determine if it even applies ...

From the article:

Chief Justice John Roberts temporarily halted discovery Friday in a lawsuit seeking access to documents and information about the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) operations.

In a brief order, Roberts granted the government’s request for an administrative stay, which temporarily lifts a judge’s order allowing limited discovery into whether DOGE is an “agency.” If it is found to be an agency, that would make DOGE subject to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.

Dr. Oz says Taxpayers Footing $14 Billion Bill for Medicaid Fraud while eligible patients struggle for care

Dr. Oz highlights how states are incentivized to keep ineligible people enrolled in federal healthcare program

Federal spending riddled with waste, fraud and abuse is costing taxpayers billions – and Dr. Mehmet Oz says Medicaid is a glaring example, where crucial care is being siphoned away from the Americans who need it most.

"There's about $14 billion we've identified with DOGE, of folks who are duly enrolled wrongly in multiple states for Medicaid," Oz said on this week's "Sunday Morning Futures."

"You live in New Jersey, but you move to Pennsylvania, and which state gets your Medicaid? Turns out both states collect money from the federal government."

We need to start taking care of the ones that contribute to society more than the ones that don't.

I mostly agree with this, but there needs to be a safety net for some. The problem there is that 'safety net' becomes 'way of life' for fraudsters. If we could fix that abuse, then I am all for helping those less fortunate. I think abusing those systems should be felonies.

I agree with a safety net. The problem is that we take care of people that choose not to work better than the ones that work their entire life. Working with the elderly, it makes me so mad.

Dr. Oz isn't the most believable source though.

DOGE: Social Security Officially Removes 12.3 Million Individuals Listed Age 120+

Social Security has removed from its rolls 12.3 million individuals listed as 120 years old or older, according to the U.S. Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

The discrepancies in the Social Security figures and the alarming ages of some of the individuals listed have garnered national attention over the last several months.

As a result, in March DOGE began to update the American people on the massive cleanup begun by Social Security. In a March 18 update, DOGE said Social Security had marked 3.2 million social security number holders aged 120 or older as deceased, warning that there was still more work to be done.

DOGE seems to be stalling. Nothing ever changes in DC.

As much as we hate it, it's all a politics game, and ignoring that politics game while making wild cuts is not going to get the fixes you want.

DOGE hasn't been revolutionary enough to turn over the system, and hasn't been political enough to change it from within.

Can you blame Doge if Congress doesn't make these cuts law??
Yes, because they came in and made themselves a big political threat machine to people from all walks and all sides of the aisle rather than acting with purpose. A Congress that responds to people from all sides of the aisle and all walks of life and inherently avoids political risk is going to be hesitant to back any play from a noisy group like that.

But all doge can do is recommend..
Basically if you as an owner have a cost saving analyst come in and recommend cuts but you refuse to implement the cuts...whose fault is it...the analyst whose made the noise about the cuts or the person refusing to implement them??? 1 can suggest the other can do..
