Maybe Trump will keep his Big Mac hole shut on ridiculous level tariffs and stop with the needless economic uncertainty and then the FOMC (again the whole committee votes) will lower rates!

Both of that seems like utter nonsense. I haven’t had a significant gap in my employment since I was 16. I’ve never seen a grocery store that doesn’t have meat and vegetables.

We absolutely feed the children of this country. Between food banks, snap, wic, school lunches, there is no child starvation in this country. Any report you see of child starvation is not an example of a lack of money or resources, but rather one of neglect. Anyone wanting to feed their children has numerous means to do so

May “seem” that way to you, but not to me. Since you brought up your own employment history out of context, I’ll mention I did a 4 year stint as a home health RN about a decade ago in both urban and rural areas. When you see people’s hardships ranging from true disability, going medically bankrupt (btw, the number of people that fall under this category is disgusting, shame on America), no family/caregiving/resources, it’s overwhelming at times. I worked hand-in hand with organizations like area agency on aging, meals on wheels, local churches, social workers, etc to help people get what they needed. Maybe it’s just a difference in perspectives between us.

Fromer FBI Director Comey posted on Instagram a photo of seashells that spelled the numbers "8647", which he captioned: "Cool shell formation on my beach walk."

The number 86 is a slang term whose definitions include "to reject" or "to get rid of", according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, which also notes that it has more recently been used as a term meaning "to kill". And Trump is the 47th US president.
Comey deleted the Instagram post, saying in a follow-up that he "assumed [the sea shells] were a political message".

"I didn't realise some folks associate those numbers with violence," he added. "It never occurred to me but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down."

But Trump argued that "a child knows what that meant". So, of course, Orange Carrot-face knew. LOL

Powell has consistently said 2% was the target point for inflation to lower interest rates...inflation at 1.6 and Powell will not lower rates. Powell's TDS stupidly refusing to lower rates will have a more negative impact on the economy than tarriffs.

If you believe tariffs started in April effect the April cpi most significantly, you’re out of your mind.

Powell isn’t the problem. He shouldn’t lower rates given the tariff impact has yet to be felt. If anything they should be higher

Powell and his cronies (the entire FR system) is most definitely a problem.
