I can only speak for East TN, but the only hungry children are those of negligent parents (due to drugs, alcohol , or mental illness). Besides the numerous government programs to provide food, our local churches and food bank are always there to help distribute food to the needy. If you have a child you are not able to feed, dm me and I will find you the right organization and will personally buy you food until the supply process is established. It’s a big country so there may be other areas where it’s different.
