President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

Trump might claim China tariff victory – but this is Capitulation Day. Donald Trump will inevitably claim Monday’s temporary truce in the US-China trade war as a victory, but financial markets seem to have read it for what it is – a capitulation.

In short, tRump caved.

Noem Eyes $50M For New DHS Jet

President Trump isn’t the only administration official eyeing a new jet: Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is also set to get one under a last-minute addition to the Coast Guard budget.

Rep. Lauren Underwood (D-Ill.), the top Democrat on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security, blasted the agency for the $50 million line item that “had never been requested or even mentioned before.”

The Department of Homeland Security has defended the request.

“The current CG-101 G550 is over twenty years old, outside of Gulfstream’s service life, and well beyond operational usage hours for a corporate aircraft,” Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary for public affairs, said in a statement.

“This is a matter of safety. Much like the Coast Guard’s ships that are well beyond their service life and safe operational usage, Coast Guard’s aircraft are too,” she added. “This Administration is taking action to restore our Nation’s finest maritime Armed Service to a capable fighting force.”

There is no goal, there are no posts, it’s called a discussion, it evolves. If you limit your discussions to one train of thought, they must get really boring, really quickly.

Yes, you gave me a bunch of great progressive programs that have been in place for decades. I agreed they are great, good thing the liberals prevailed in getting those programs passed. Do you agree with DOGE cutting hundreds of millions from them?
I sure do.

So what are the House Democrats doing today that's so important for the American people as a whole? Gee, whiz. They're still on this kick of offering false hopes & dreams. Offering No real solutions to solve the problems only to create more to the racial divide that's going on. Good to see Democrats at work doing nothing as usual.

I'm throwing out the early prediction that the Big Beautiful Bill goes down in not so beautiful flames. It was a stupid decision to bundle all this stuff together in one bill.

I sure do.
Cutting the $$$ is great, but it should have been done more in an activity based manner. Something highly beneficial with an efficiency audit should take at least a year or so to do it properly, and with more people who understand the activity analysis side of it. You don't just go in and start cutting massive amounts of jobs without knowing the specific job duties of those jobs

Swiss billionaire has given $652 Million to Democratic Causes

Swiss billionaire Hansjörg Wyss, one of the largest Democratic donors in the country, persistently sexually harassed a female employee nearly 60 years younger than him, a lawsuit filed in California alleges.

Madison Busby, a former employee at Wyss’s Halter Ranch winery, accuses the 89-year-old businessman of sexual battery, sexual harassment, and retaliation, according to a lawsuit filed April 21 in San Luis Obispo County. Busby, 30, alleges Wyss groped her during their first meeting in 2019, when her husband, Bryce Mullins, managed the Wyss winery. Wyss "placed his hand on Ms. Busby’s butt and groped her" during the encounter and made other lewd remarks, the lawsuit alleges.

Par for the course.

I will add by acknowledging Musk's request for daily activity could have been good thing if it would have been his first step. His next step should have been to send experienced job auditors to physically be in the agencies conducting detailed audits of specific job duties. It's probably a given that redundant paperwork is inefficient. That's an easy fix and immediately improves efficiency. IOW, eliminating unnecessary paperwork. That delays important decisions. Almost all the automotive companies have done it. GE did it.

There is no "problem". If you're giving back, is it all about "you"? Isn't it about who benefits from your charity the most? Isn't that about "we" as a country? Put away that shovel. I'm not Hank Voight here😉
My families service has really seem to bother you today. Possibly a guilty conscience on your end. Just give what you can.

See, you're making it personal again. I'm not bothered by it. I have, multiple times, said how much I respect it. Damn. I give because I am able to now. For you to insinuate guilt is triggering my responses is silly, and extremely self serving without an inkling of self awareness. It seems in your world, your giving is all about you and you only. It's not bothersome. It's an observation

If you don’t like the answer, Ohio should rephrase the original statement. But you definitely seem bothered.

People ignore this part....
