President Donald Trump - J.D. Vance Administration

Apple paid 19B in taxes in 2024. I would absolutely bet anything they spent more than 19B with the way they defined investment....
I tell you what..the AI output sucks..

In 2024, Apple invested approximately $19 billion in the United States, according to Apple's official website. This includes investments in suppliers, manufacturing, data centers, and Apple TV+ productions, as well as direct employment.Additionally, Apple has pledged to invest over $500 billion in the US over the next four years.

dang link even says taxes

Apple remains one of the largest U.S. taxpayers, having paid more than $75 billion in U.S. taxes over the past five years, including $19 billion in 2024 alone.

Trump’s Legal Strategy Has a Name

Donald Trump’s attacks on the courts lack recent precedent in the United States, but they follow a clear pattern seen in backsliding democracies around the world. In many countries, when political leaders challenge the courts, the end result isn’t merely a win in a single policy dispute. These attacks have a deeper, more destructive effect: They systematically weaken the courts as a check on the executive’s power—opening the door for governments to abuse that power to target opponents and endanger democracy.

He's the Secretary of Health and Human Services ..... but says people should not take medical advice from him. What the hell is he doing in that post? It's ridiculous.
His position is administrative so his comments there are reasonable.

I strongly disagree with your take.

That position is whatever the person holding it brings to the table and makes it.

.... and considering how often RFK Jr. has publicly offered his opinions concerning health care, it is not reasonable to say that those opinions are irrelevant and should be ignored.

Trump promised his tariffs would create jobs. They’re already destroying them.

Donald Trump has said his ongoing trade war is meant in large part to bring manufacturing jobs back to communities like this. But, in the Lehigh Valley, it’s having the opposite effect: Last month, Mack Trucks announced it would be laying off about 10 percent of its unionized workers at its Lehigh Valley plant, and pointed to tariffs and the economic uncertainty they’ve caused as the reason.

Do you think Democrats spend more time, money and/or emotion on the causes they “stand” for or just the social media/community credibility for being on the “right side of history?”

I was referring to his comments quoted in that article, as I mentioned. So I wasn't opining on what he's said and done outside the scope of those quotes. There's nothing wrong with him saying 'I'd probably get it but I'm not a doctor so don't take it as medical advice'. I think that's about the best answer he could have given.
I would object if he'd pretended to have a deep technical understanding of the subject and come out with some Biden level covid vaccine BS, but this time he didn't. He didn't bring deep subject knowledge to the table and we all know it. Thankfully he does too sometimes. If he says his opinions should be ignored I'll take his word for it. I'd ignore them anyway but since he said it I'll still ignore them.
Isn't it the Surgeon General who should take the lead in promoting best practices related to public health and trying to warn us away from harmful practices?

Didn't claim we did. But if someone is going to advocate for our tax dollars feeding starving children, then they should probably start with the ones starving here, and not in Africa. But that's not what the poster wanted to discuss
A lot of the people who don't want to feed starving kids overseas don't want to feed poor kids here either. Welfare programs take money away from where it should go: to Lockheed Martin, RTX, etc. Them skinny kids can bootstrap it.
Considering our wealth we should maintain effective levels of humanitarian and developmental aid for selfish as well as altruistic reasons. We have competition for access to resources and markets. Aid helps us there.

We don’t feed the ones in this country… and the Prez is in the WH talkin bout how many millions his obscenely wealthy donors are making… it’s so plainly disgusting, and if you don’t think so then maybe you should reflect.
Conservatives give more to underprivileged than Liberals. That is a fact. Republicans Give More to Charity Than Democrats, but There’s a Bigger Story Here - Non Profit News | Nonprofit Quarterly

The problem is bureaucrat's skim much of that money and it never gets to where it is supposed to go. That is what DOGE is for. Why dont you all let them do what they are supposed to be doing and uncover all of these politicians skimming this $ ?

He’s been in office for 5 of the last 21 years.
Save your fake rage on feeding the homeless now that’s he’s in the office when you didn’t have it for the other 16 years.
