Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Just got word that after 28 years of service to my great city I will be receiving a 1% pay increase. I am a little overwhelmed and at a loss for what to do with this windfall. Should I pull a Clark Griswold and put a deposit on a pool, buy more Tesla stock, replace my doormat, or bump my Spyre contribution? Tax assessment went up 42% BTW.

TIA
They didn’t even give you a year membership to the Jelly of the Month club???

May 2, 1933

@Weezer one of your relatives.....

The modern legend of the Loch Ness Monster is born when a sighting makes local news on May 2, 1933. The newspaper Inverness Courier relates an account of a local couple who claim to have seen “an enormous animal rolling and plunging on the surface.” The story of the “monster” (a moniker chosen by the Courier editor) becomes a media phenomenon, with London newspapers sending correspondents to Scotland and a circus offering a 20,000 pound sterling reward for capture of the beast.

After the April 1933 sighting was reported in the newspaper on May 2, interest steadily grew, especially after another couple claimed to have seen the animal on land.

Amateur investigators have for decades kept an almost constant vigil, and in the 1960s several British universities launched sonar expeditions to the lake. Nothing conclusive was found, but in each expedition the sonar operators detected some type of large, moving underwater objects. In 1975, another expedition combined sonar and underwater photography in Loch Ness. A photo resulted that, after enhancement, appeared to show what vaguely resembled the giant flipper of an aquatic animal.

Further sonar expeditions in the 1980s and 1990s resulted in more inconclusive readings. Revelations in 1994 that the famous 1934 photo was a complete hoax has only slightly dampened the enthusiasm of tourists and investigators for the legendary beast of Loch Ness.

@Volator This is exactly the kind of hard hitting investigative journalism that the people want. Any Google ranger can give stats and stars on recruits that lead to totally uninformed opinions. Only the hardcore can tell you a recruits views on fights between gorillas and men or the JFK assassination.
I say that the pap about who the starting qb will be next season is the filler, this is the meat.

GMac is a true freshman this year, he can definitely continue to grow and get better regardless if he plays “significant” snaps this year. Merk is a true sophomore, same goes for him.

I know we bring up Hooker a lot on here, but he didn’t play significant snaps until his 4th year in college. Guys grow and develop on different timelines.

Not picking at you specifically, I just have seen a lot of people with this line of thinking

Hooker became the starting QB in 2019 at VA Tech and ended up starting 8 total games that year. It was his 3rd year in college though not his 4th.

I dont like Dramas. Usually scrub through the parts that are unimportant. Star Wars isnt one of those things that needs this. Story moves too slowly. What happened on an obscure planet and has little impact to move the story, needs sacking.
Well if they're no drama at all its just bells and whistles with zero meaning.

Star Wars can have drama that leafs to great action, which Andor does. Minus Jedi, which would be nice if they did a similar show with Jedi.

Just competent writing, character development and cool space stuff.

This is the catch all thread for the Recruiting Forum entitled Football Talk. Individual recruits have their own threads, but this thread covers general football talk and Vol sports of all kinds. This thread is where General information about UT and sports gets discussed. Glad you are here.

Not an even trade for Rod Clark IMO, but not bad either. TN boy tho...rising star

He actually has more coaching experience than Rod did. So might be a slight upgrade if looking at when they each hired in under Barnes, obviously the 4 years with Rick would imo give Rod an edge but I love the hire.

Morrow being a TN guy and elite recruiter.

2 years at Cal
3 years at Loyola-Chicago
3 years at South Alabama
1 year at Nicholls State
