Who do we ultimately end up with in the portal

Who do we end up with? Not who you want, but who do we likely get?

The only thing happening right now is all of these guys are getting raises because of UT. They all are leveraging the situation for more money.

That's great if they will actually do that. Looking down your nose at every player that comes out is old hat, it isnt working.

The TCU receiver, have we made contact? At this point with what happened to reshuffling of receivers, what is the plan for bringing in help?
If Matthews is actually a stud, then brazell, staley and kittzleman is enough IMO.

I'm at the point that whoever is out there suited up against Syracuse is my guy. Even Smokey.

Transfer porthole has really ruined the off-season for me as a fan. Thank goodness for Vols baseball.
You do know the best players on bb team were thru portal

CJH has never gone with more than 4 WRs in rotation. There is nobody in the portal that can match Matthews and Brazzell. I believe after a year in the system Brazzell can have a breakout year. He had some good moments last year. I believe we will see Davis a lot more also. If Staley and Jefferson step up, along with the Freshmen UT will be just fine at WR. The biggest problem last year was they couldn't get everybody healthy at the same time. Jackson has shown flashes of how great he can be.

Staff’s going to be forced out of their comfort level and use Jackson and Smith…with the offense a beneficiary.

Also a true freshman.

Listen I admit the quality appears to have gone up. But losing 5 players is never good.

TE is set, and OL is in better shape.

Dobbs is a big kid. Bray is a good example.
Dobbs still lanky. Same scouting report from this board in 2013. I remember seeing Peyton Manning for the first time (back in the days you had to wait) and thinking “One wrong hit, and that neck’ll snap off!” Proved prophetic in a way…WAY after he was in pursuit of Favre’s record for consecutive games started.

Heard the same with Tyler Bray and Josh Dobbs (both starters as true freshmen). Neither are walking on their hands.
This “he needs 20 more lbs” excuse is so played out. These are QBs. Not bodybuilders. The average athlete can safely, healthily put on 6-8 lbs of lean muscle in a year. Cheeseburger weight is another story. Some of these guys have small frames. It is what it is. Is another 8-10 lbs really going to make the difference in getting broken in half by a 400 lb linemen? Absolutely not.

Seen him in person…in his case, yeah. Point being, his build was never an issue. Jayden Daniels was and is lithe…he aight.
Those guys are running backs who are rare athletes. Running baxks that cam throw. Honestly, will we see another Josh Dobbs, ever? Bouncing off people, redirecting at full sprint, running out of a pile is usually not done at 6'3" 220. Only athlete ive ever seen at TN like that was Cordarrelle. Kamara, was much smaller.

The fact that we have not one championship with those guys is criminal.

Who is saying he needs to be a bodybuilder? Completely different goals, completely different regimin.

This is why exercise science is a science.

6'6" QB needs different skill sets than OL. But additional muscle protects the cage. Tendons, ligaments, all that needs protection.

Anyway, you get it.

Here is the deal. Nico’s production against the SEC was paltry… like on the order of 150 yards and .5 TDs per game.

If we can roll with what we currently have and bump that up to 200 and 1, while improving the locker room by subtracting Nico, we could win quite a few games.

GMAC is the better QB, but he isn't ready yet. He needs 20 more pounds at least. Both were going to be backups this year. If we can get a good QB with experience from portal, that's what we need to do. They understood they weren't going to play much this year had Nico stayed.
Nico didn’t stay, and I’d be chomping at the bits to show the world what I can do. That’s how top-tier athletes think.
