'25 QB transfer prospects (Joey Aguilar)

Can anyone summarize any info from some of our local insiders I may have missed due to having a job like the loser I am
And then the dinosaurs came, but they got too big and fat, so they all died and they turned into oil. And then the Arabs came and they bought Mercedes Benzes. And Prince Charles started wearing all of Lady Di's clothes. I couldn't believe it.

I think it would be of poor character for TN to turnaround and take another teams QB1 who would only be leaving their current team for a payday. Let's roll with the guys on the roster. Take a back up in the portal.
We’re not drafting them . They certainly have a choice to make that they think is best for themselves. What if they reached out to us before we even knew if they were interested?

The problem wasn't that Nico left, it's how he did it. Sure we would have been mad either way, but the way he did it burned every single bridge he made here.

If he plays out practice and spring game and then goes to the coaches with "Hey, I think my market is higher. If you don't think so, that is fine, but I will test the waters in the Portal. I would like to keep communication open and I'm still willing to come back to negotiating table with you guys."

Heck I’d reach out to Joey Aguilar who transferred to UCLA to be their starter. He didn’t have the best year last year but had a great ‘23 and with better weapons/OL he could have a nice bounce back year.

Staff has already reached out to him and are doing their due diligence. He’s still a bit raw but has upside and is tough. Think he could be a plan b or potential bridge to ease the younger guys into the fray.

Well it’s a Big Pretty White Plane with Curtains and a wheel. It looks like a Big Tylenol.

I adjust for that in my talent grades. I still have him in the top 30.

I have Robertson as having the better 2024 (worth 63 points above the average FBS QB. Becht was at 54.) but Becht has two good years instead of just one and my model trusts that a bit more.

In terms of fit, both Becht and Robertson do well on play-action and that's obviously a big part of our run game.

Becht's accuracy grades are a good deal higher than Robertson's and his Avoid Sack rating is actually top 10 in the country (and this is consistently the most underrated QB eval stat imo. It drops Shedeur Sanders from #1 to outside the top 5). He's also top 10 in positive play rate.

Demond Williams?

No offense but this is not a smart take.

Heupel’s actions should tell you what he thinks about the QBs on his roster. Would we scouring the country for a plus starter if we already had one on the roster? No.

Heupel had the opportunity to say he thinks Merk or George will be an elite QB here, and he’s riding with his guys. But he didn’t say that. If he did, we’d probably be looking into the FCS ranks for a depth piece. Instead we’re looking to overpay for a major college starter. That should tell you Heupel doesn’t think these guys are ready.

if we traded qbs with ucla and got back into the playoffs that would objectively be the funniest outcome.

also kinda wonder if the Spyre team are just ****ing with Big Nic at this point. I can't imagine UCLA loves the idea of immediately losing their starter if they take a leap of faith on Nico.
